Ukraine vs Belgium Odds, Picks & Predictions: Red Devils Excel on Day 13 of Euro 2024

It's not been pretty at times for Belgium, but they enter the finale Group E game with a chance to top the group at the expense of Ukraine. Given the free-flowing nature of the game, our soccer expert believes we'll see goals from both sides in a high-scoring Belgium win.

This Wednesday we have Ukraine vs. Belgium, taking place in the most interesting group at Euro 2024 as all four teams come into the final game with a win each and are sat on three points.

Nobody has really grabbed this group yet and everyone is in with a shout to get into the Round of 16.

So get stuck into these Euro 2024 picks and take a look at our Ukraine vs Belgium prediction.

Ukraine vs Belgium picks, predictions, and betting tips

My best bet:
Romelu Lukaku to score and Belgium to win (+120 at Betano)

My analysis

Group E couldn’t be any closer as we head into the final games of the group. All four teams have the exact same record, with one win and one defeat each. That’s going to change on Wednesday and at least two of these teams will reach the Round of 16.

Belgium comes into this game as favorites, which is fair, especially based on their last performance. Belgium beat Romania 2-0 in a game in which they played brilliantly at times, although they couldn’t extend their 1-0 lead until the 80th minute when they managed to hit Romania on the counterattack.

That strong Belgian performance was an impressive bounce back from the 1-0 defeat they had to Slovakia in their opener. They dominated Slovakia in terms of possession and had two disallowed goals but they didn’t manage to turn around the one-goal deficit and get anything from the game.

Ukraine lost 3-0 to Romania in their first game before squeezing past Slovakia 2-1 in their most recent fixture. Many had Ukraine as a team who could surprise many at Euro 2024 but in truth, they’ve been really poor in both games and haven’t looked as dangerous in front of goal as you’d expect from a team featuring La Liga’s top scorer.

Belgium’s best player so far has been Romelu Lukaku. The striker has yet to find the back of the net for Belgium but he’s done everything except for that. Across his two games, he’s assisted one goal, the opener for Belgium against Romania, using his big frame to protect the ball before finding a teammate. He’s also taken eight shots, five of which have been on target. To make matters worse he’s also had three goals ruled out. He’s been incredibly unfortunate with two of those being ruled out via the narrowest of offsides and the other being a controversial handball from Lois Openda.

The reality is that he’s on zero goals for the tournament but if it weren’t for the finest of margins he’d currently be leading the race for the Golden Boot. Heading into this game against Ukraine, a team who have given up four goals in two games, he is a prime candidate for positive regression.

At +120 you’re getting a decent price on a Lukaku goal and Belgium win, which feels like it has a strong chance of landing given both Lukaku’s performances so far and the struggles that we’ve seen from Ukraine.

Romelu Lukaku odds, prop for today

My best bet
Romelu Lukaku to score 2+ goals (+345 at Betano)

My analysis

Our player in focus for Ukraine vs Belgium is Romelu Lukaku and we’re going to double down on the big Belgian and back him to score two or more goals. As mentioned above, he’s had a strong performance through two games so far, offering the team a lot and somehow doing it without managing to score.

The positives are that he’s finding himself in great positions and he’s creating opportunities. That’s the hard part for any striker, so we know that at some point soon his luck will change and he’ll get back to doing what he does best. Lukaku has had a mixed career at club level, never really seeming to find a home as he’d moved between some of the biggest clubs on the planet. Despite that, he’s always excelled at the international level with 85 goals in 116 games for Belgium.

His performances show that he’s doing everything right and a big game should be on the horizon. At +345 we’ll be hoping that it’s against Ukraine, who’ve given up four goals so far and failed to keep a single clean sheet.

Ukraine vs Belgium same-game parlay (SGP)

Romelu Lukaku anytime goal

Belgium moneyline

Both teams to score - Yes

In addition to our best bet which is for Romelu Lukaku to score and Belgium to win, we’re also going to add one more leg. That leg is for both teams to score. The Belgium defense has only given up one goal across two games but they’ve not looked rock solid.

They’ve been pushing their fullbacks high up the pitch and might be without Arthur Theate who was withdrawn from the game against Romania with injury.

Ukraine do have goals in their team, at least in theory. Artem Dovbyk was the top scorer in La Liga this season as he starred for Girona, but he’s yet to open his Euro 2024 account. Roman Yaremchuk scored as a sub last time out and may be pushing for a start.

Belgium have allowed 24 shots with nine on target, through two games and it wouldn’t be a shock to see Ukraine score, although they’re unlikely to be able to outscore Belgium.
