It’s a Ryan Reynolds homecoming on Saturday as Wrexham visit the Vancouver Whitecaps for the latest leg of their North American tour.
The Red Dragons have held their own in draws against Chelsea and Bournemouth this month while surging Vancouver have won four of their last six MLS contests.

My analysis
Slowly but surely, the Whitecaps have found their stride this season. May was disastrous, June brought improvement, and they’ve taken off this month.
Clinical finishing has been at the heart of their good run. Striker Fafa Picault has scored four goals in his past three games, and the Whitecaps have found the net 17 times in their last six contests.
The only slight red flag is around what kind of Vancouver lineup we see this weekend. They’ve got a Leagues Cup group stage clash with the L.A . Galaxy on Tuesday, so boss Vanni Sartini could shuffle the deck. Even so, the hosts have strong depth.
As for Wrexham, they somehow walked away with a draw against Chelsea on Wednesday despite just 25% of the possession. Luke Bolton and Jack Marriott grabbed the goals in Santa Clara, but the Red Dragons' attack lacks bite without the injured Paul Mullin.
This is a special occasion for Reynolds — one of many for Wrexham over the past two seasons — but I expect the newly promoted League One club to suffer their first loss of the tour on Saturday.

The Whitecaps have put together one of MLS’ most dangerous attacks, with Picault, Brian White, and Ryan Gauld all playing big roles in an adventurous front three.
I’m going with White to score in my SGP. He’s notched 12 league goals this season, and he’s more likely to feature this weekend since Gauld is ruled out with a knee injury.
Despite Vancouver’s hot streak, the Under on 3.5 total goals looks like good value as the third leg of my parlay — especially if we see a number of backups getting their chance for minutes.
This could turn into a scrappy game if both teams make wholesale changes in the second half, and a third game in a week could be a step too far for a Wrexham team that’s still building preseason fitness.
