Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City meeting at the Parc des Princes headline Wednesday’s Champions League matchups.

This hasn’t been a vintage season for Man City, but they’re showing signs of life and the form of some of their stars is improving, which is why our Paris Saint-Germain vs Manchester City predictions have Phil Foden finding the back of the Parisian’s net.

My analysis

Over the last few seasons, a game between PSG and Manchester City would be regarded as a matchup between two of the favorites for the competition. PSG have long tried to win the Champions League, while Man City have managed to lift the trophy. However, neither team is quite at the level that we’ve seen in recent years.

The Parisians have moved on from the era of megastars that saw Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi all play at Parc des Princes but leave with nothing but domestic silverware. Meanwhile, Man City have been a juggernaut over recent years, reaching the business end of this competition every season, while winning the Premier League for four straight years. Heading into this year it was expected they win a fifth title and a second Champions League but they haven’t played at the level needed to achieve that yet.

This year the struggles at Man City have been highlighted by a number of their star players failing to reach the level we’ve seen in previous years. Our best is based around one of those players, Phil Foden, who has finally begun to look like the player we know and admire in recent weeks.

Foden missed the start of this campaign due to playing for England in the Euros, with his team reaching the final. That marked another grueling year packed with games. Despite being just 24 years old Foden has played more than most and with City and England routinely going deep in competitions it’s meant that he’s been overworked. From the start of the season until the end of 2024, we saw Foden score four goals and assist two more. Although it’s worth noting that three goals and an assist came in this competition, an area in which Foden has always thrived.

In four games since the dawn of 2025, we’ve seen Foden score five goals and set up two more. He’s in great form and looks like the Foden we saw before, quick with his feet but even quicker with his brilliant mind.

PSG have conceded in six of their past seven in all competitions. Lens and St Etienne have scored against them in the past two weeks, as well as Espaly, the fifth-tier team who scored twice against them in the French Cup last Wednesday. With the French team struggling to keep clean sheets, it’s ripe for Foden to continue playing at the electric level that he has in the past month.

When he’s at his best Foden is one of the best players on the planet. With City looking like they’re coming out of their struggles, and Foden finding his best form, you can’t bet against him bagging another against PSG.

PSG vs Man City same-game parlay (SGP)

Phil Foden to score

Both teams to score — Yes

Over 2.5 goals

As well as the best bet for the game, we’re backing Both teams to score. Obviously, the Foden goal covers the City side but PSG have been free-scoring in France, scoring 48 times in 18 Ligue 1 games. While they haven’t carried that form over to Europe yet they have a team filled with attacking talent. City have been uncharacteristically poor defensively this seen and 68.2% of their Premier League games have seen both teams scoring.

With that attacking talent that both teams have at their disposal, we’re also backing Over 2.5 goals. PSG have seen a lot of goals during home games domestically this season, while Overs has landed in four of City’s six Champions League games and a huge 72.7% of their Premier League games overall.
