PHOENIX -- Nick Ahmed, Yasmany Tomas and Brandon Drury homered, and A.J. Pollock had two hits and two RBIs as the Arizona Diamondbacks broke a three-game losing streak with a 7-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday night at Chase Field.
Ahmed homered in a two-run third inning, and Pollock's two-out, two-run single made it 4-1 in the sixth. Tomas hit a two-run homer and Drury followed with a solo shot in the seventh.
Arizona right-hander Zack Godley (1-0), who was recalled from Triple-A Reno earlier in the day to make his second spot start of the season, gave up one run and four hits in seven innings. Godley struck out six and walked one. He got 14 ground-balls outs, including three double plays, and one flyout.
Ahmed, Drury, Pollock and Chris Owings had two hits apiece for Arizona (19-16), which had lost seven of 10.
Diamondbacks pitchers struck out at least 10 in a ninth straight home game, tying a major league record.
James McCann had one of the Tigers' five hits, all singles, knocking in their only run in the second inning.
The Tigers (16-16) did not get a hit after pitcher Matt Boyd's infield single to lead off the third.
Boyd (2-3) gave up eight hits and four runs (three earned) in six innings. He struck out six and walked three.
Justin Upton singled with one out in the second inning and scored thanks to consecutive singles by Jim Adduci and McCann. Godley got out of the inning with a double-play grounder to third.
Ahmed homered with one out in the third, and the Diamondbacks scored again in the inning on two-out singles by Pollock, Owings and Paul Goldschmidt and a passed ball.
Goldschmidt's one-hopper caromed off Boyd's leg, and a member of the training staff came to the mound. After a few warmup pitches, Boyd remained in the game.
