Brewers vs Giants prediction

My Brewers vs Giants best bet: Giants moneyline (-142 at FanDuel)

Right-hander Tobias Myers makes his season debut for the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday afternoon. Myers suffered an oblique injury that prevented him from joining the rotation at the start of the season.

While Myers put forth an impressive rookie campaign last year, his underlying metrics were far more concerning. He finished in the bottom half of the league in expected ERA (xERA), expected batting average (xBA), and barrel rate.

Myers also struggled in his lone outing against the San Francisco Giants last season, surrendering three runs in five innings en route to a 5-4 loss.

Meanwhile, right-hander Landen Roupp takes the mound for San Francisco. His analytics so far have been tremendous.

Entering this matchup, Roupp sits in the 71st percentile or higher in xERA, xBA, average exit velocity, and strikeout rate. That success could continue against Milwaukee, a team Roupp owns a 2.08 ERA against through three career meetings.

The Giants also hold the power advantage in this matchup, outranking the Brewers in slugging percentage, OPS, and home runs.
