The Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox wrap up a three-game set at Fenway Park on Thursday afternoon.

These teams split the first two contests in this series, and with ace Garrett Crochet on the hill for Boston today, my Mariners vs. Red Sox predictions are backing the home side.

Here are my best free MLB picks for this AL clash on April 24.

Mariners vs Red Sox prediction

My Mariners vs Red Sox best bet: Red Sox -0.5 F5 (-120 at bet365)

The Seattle Mariners beat the Boston Red Sox 8-5 as +123 underdogs last night. Boston is still 8-5 at home and will be in a good spot to bounce back with Garrett Crochet on the mound.

Crochet had a breakout season with the White Sox last year and has been sensational with his new club. In four starts this month, he has a 0.67 ERA with an OBA of .149 though 27 innings.

Seattle has a pretty good starter of its own in Bryan Woo, who has a 3.12 ERA across four starts. That said, he tends to perform significantly worse away from the pitcher-friendly confines of T-Mobile Park and struggled in both of his road starts this year.

He'll have a tough time navigating a Boston lineup that leads the majors in hard-hit rate and average exit velocity, while ranking fifth in barrel rate.

The M's haven't been quite as impressive at the plate and have struggled against southpaws like Crochet. While they are 12th in the majors with an OPS of .732 against right-handers, that number dips to .689 versus lefties.

I like the BoSox in this spot but I'm a bit wary of backing them on the moneyline due to their shaky bullpen. So let's take that out of the equation and bet on them to have a lead after five innings instead.

Mariners vs Red Sox same-game parlay (SGP)

Red Sox -0.5 F5

Bryan Woo 5+ strikeouts

Trevor Story 1+ hits

Backing the Red Sox on the F5 runline, along with the 5+ strikeouts milestone for Woo, creates a nice multiplier for this SGP.

The Red Sox have been raking but have also been whiffing, sitting 26th in the majors in strikeout rate (24.3%). Woo has fanned at least five batters in 12 of his last 15 starts.

Boston infielder Trevor Story went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts last night. That said, the two-time Silver Slugger winner should pick up a hit here. Story leads the team with a .319 batting average and is batting .354 this month.
