ST. LOUIS -- Lance Lynn sent the St. Louis Cardinals into the All-Star break on a high note.
In his longest start since May 23, Lynn fired seven shutout innings Sunday to lead St. Louis to a 6-0 win over the New York Mets at Busch Stadium.
Lynn (7-6) gave up three hits and a walk, striking out a season-low two. Two of the three hits were erased on double plays as New York (39-47) never got a runner to second base.
Offensively, Paul DeJong was at it again, going 2-for-4 with a 434-foot solo homer to left-center field in the fourth inning to cap an epic series. He finished 9-for-12 with four doubles and three homers to go along with four RBIs.
Tommy Pham and Luke Voit also cracked homers for St. Louis (43-45), which has won 10 of its last 15 games going to the break. Pham finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs before departing after six innings with right hip tightness.
Jedd Gyorko's RBI groundout in the first inning gave the Cardinals the only run they needed against Steven Matz (2-2), who entered the day with a 17-inning scoreless streak.
Pham made it 3-0 in the third, lining his 11th homer of the year over the right field wall after Matt Carpenter worked a leadoff walk. An inning later, DeJong clouted his ninth homer off the back wall of the Mets' bullpen.
Yadier Molina tacked on an RBI single in the fifth to make it 5-0. Voit started the sixth inning by lining a solo shot to right, his third homer of the year.
Matz lasted just 4 1/3 innings, permitting seven hits and five runs with a walk and a strikeout in the shortest of his six starts this year.
NOTES: New York manager Terry Collins announced Sunday that RHP Jacob deGrom will draw the start when the Mets open play after the All-Star break on Friday night at home against Colorado. ... Mets 2B Neil Walker (left hamstring) is in Florida to ramp up the rehab of his injury, which landed him on the 10-day disabled list June 15. Walker was batting .270 with nine homers and 33 RBIs in 60 games. ... St. Louis 2B Kolten Wong (right triceps strain) went 1-for-4 with a walk in a rehab game Saturday at Double-A Springfield. Wong, who was batting .301 with a homer and 19 RBIs before hitting the 10-day DL on June 15, could be back after the All-Star break.
