PHOENIX -- Arizona right fielder J.D. Martinez hit a grand slam and drove in six runs, and Robbie Ray won his sixth consecutive decision in the Diamondbacks' 11-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday at Chase Field.
Martinez doubled home two runs in first inning and hit a grand slam in a six-run second inning to extend his strong September run. He is hitting .414 with 15 homers and 35 RBIs in 21 games this month.
Ray (15-5) gave up three hits and two runs (both unearned) in five innings in what could be his final tune-up for the postseason. Arizona has not announced a Sunday starter. He struck out five and walked two.
Ketel Marte doubled, tripled and drove in two runs, and Christian Walker had his second pinch-hit homer in five games as Arizona (91-67) won for the fourth time in six games.
A.J. Pollock had two hits and scored two runs to help the D-backs take an 8-0 lead after four innings. Most of Arizona's starters played only seven innings.
Tim Federowicz hit a two-run homer, and Joe Panik and Pablo Sandoval drove in runs for the Giants (62-96), who had won four of six.
The Giants need one victory in the final four games to avoid their first 100-loss season since 1985, the only 100-loss season in franchise history.
Pollock singled and Paul Goldschmidt walked before Martinez doubled to center field for a 2-0 lead in the first inning off Mike Moore (6-15), who set a career high in losses in his first full season with the Giants.
Jake Lamb walked and Marte doubled to open the second inning, and Lamb scored when he beat first baseman Buster Posey's throw to the plate on a grounder to make it 3-0.
Pollock singled, and Goldschmidt reached on Moore's error to bring up Martinez with the bases loaded. Martinez's home run into the pool area in right-center field was his 28th in 58 games with the Diamondbacks. He has 44 home runs overall this season.
Moore gave up eight runs (seven earned), five hits and three walks while getting four outs.
