PHOENIX -- A.J. Pollock had three hits, including a three-run homer, and left-hander Patrick Corbin won for the fifth time in six starts as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies 8-2 on Wednesday at Chase Field.

Pollock doubled home a run in the fifth inning and tied a season high with four RBIs. Following a 2-for-22 skid, he was hitting seventh in the lineup for the first time this season.

Jake Lamb had two hits and two RBIs, and David Peralta, Paul Goldschmidt and Corbin added two hits apiece for Arizona (84-62), which took a four-game lead over Colorado (80-66) in the race for the top National League wild card.

DJ LeMahieu homered in the sixth inning for the Rockies, who had their six-game winning streak broken, one victory short of a season high.

Corbin (14-12) gave up one run and four hits in 6 2/3 innings in his second victory over Colorado in 12 days. He struck out seven and walked two.

Trevor Story had two hits for the Rockies, who are three games ahead of Milwaukee for the second NL wild card. They also scored on two hits and a groundout in the ninth inning.

J.D. Martinez doubled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored twice for Arizona. He has reached safely in 17 straight games.

Peralta doubled to open the first inning and scored on Lamb's single for a 1-0 lead, the first of five straight innings in which Arizona scored once.

Corbin singled with two outs in the second inning and scored on Peralta's second double to make it 2-0.

Goldschmidt and Martinez hit back-to-back doubles with one out in the third inning and it was 3-0.

Corbin and Ketel Marte singled in the fourth inning before Lamb's two-out double made it 4-0 and knocked out Colorado starter German Marquez.

Martinez walked and scored on Pollock's one-out double in the fifth.

Marquez gave up four runs and 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out one and did not walk a batter.

NOTES: Arizona 1B Paul Goldschmidt's third-inning double was his 1,000 career hit. Luis Gonzalez (1,337) is the only other player in franchise history with more than 1,000 hits. ... Colorado RHP German Marquez started against Arizona in each of the six series played between the two this season. Marquez went 0-3 with a 4.59 ERA over 33 1/3 innings in those outings. He gave up seven runs in 15 1/3 innings in three starts at Chase Field. ... Arizona SS/OF Chris Owings (fractured finger) began taking ground balls and working on grip strength. The team is optimistic he will be ready when eligible to return from the 60-day disabled list Sept. 29.
