Jake Cronenworth belted a three-run homer in the 10th inning to give visiting San Diego a 6-4 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday as the Padres took the final three of the four-game series.
Jurickson Profar opened the 10th against Trevor Gott (1-1) with a single to right, sending runner Jose Azocar to third. Cronenworth then drove an 0-1 pitch 377 feet to right for his fifth homer.
Milwaukee got a run in the bottom half off Taylor Rogers on Andrew McCutchen's RBI single. Rogers finished for his 18th save.
Kolten Wong, who led off the Milwaukee first with a home run, tied it 3-3 in the eighth with a two-run shot off Nick Martinez, who had thrown four scoreless innings in relief. Pablo Reyes reached on an infield single to open and Wong followed with his fifth homer.
Robert Suarez relieved and loaded the bases on two walks and a single, but Tim Hill (1-0) came on and retired Jace Peterson on a short fly to left.
San Diego erased a 1-0 deficit with three runs in the fifth off Eric Lauer with the aid of an error. Trent Grisham opened with a ground-rule double to right. Grisham was caught off second on Azocar's bouncer to first, but shortstop Reyes bobbled the throw, putting runners on the corners.
Profar then blooped an RBI single into no-man's land behind first. Cronenworth followed with an RBI single and Profar came home on Luke Voit's groundout to third.
Lauer allowed three runs, one earned, on six hits in six innings, striking out four and walking two.
After Milwaukee was blanked in back-to-back games, Wong immediately eliminated any chance of a third consecutive shutout, jumping on the second pitch from Mike Clevinger, activated earlier in the day off the injured list. Clevinger struck out five and walked two in three innings in his first start since May 17.
Milwaukee won the series opener 5-4 on Thursday, rallying with four runs in the ninth off Rogers. The Brewers managed just one hit in a 7-0 loss on Friday and the Padres followed up with another shutout, 4-0.
