Tim Locastro lined a bases-loaded single over third base with one out in the 10th inning as the Arizona Diamondbacks ended a season-high six-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Sunday in Phoenix.
Christian Walker singled to open the 10th inning off Mark Melancon (3-2), and Jarrod Dyson walked with one out. The runners advanced on a wild pitch, and Carson Kelly was intentionally walked to load the bases for Locastro, who delivered his second walk-off hit this season.
Walker had three hits and an RBI, Locastro had two singles and two RBIs and Eduardo Escobar had two hits for the Diamondbacks, who were in danger of falling three games below .500 for the first time since April 13.
Kevin Pillar homered and Steven Vogt had an RBI groundout for the Giants, who had won seven of 11 games. Pillar was 5-for-12 with two homers, six runs and five RBIs in the three-game series.
Matt Andriese (4-4) pitched a 1-2-3 10th for the victory.
Arizona catcher Caleb Joseph walked with one out in the third inning, the first base runner off Giants starter Shaun Anderson, and scored on Locastro's two-out single for a 1-0 lead.
Evan Longoria singled and took third on Brandon Belt's double to open the fourth inning. Longoria scored on Vogt's groundout to tie it at 1. The Giants left runners on first and third.
Arizona took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning. Adam Jones struck out but reached on a wild pitch with one out and Escobar singled him to third before scoring on Walker's single.
Pillar tied it with a leadoff homer in the seventh, his 10th, to knock out Arizona starter Merrill Kelly. Kelly gave up four hits and two runs in six-plus innings. He struck out nine, one short of a season high, and walked two.
Anderson gave up two runs and five hits in six-plus innings, leaving after Escobar singled and took third on Walker' ground-rule double.
The Diamondbacks did not score in the inning after Reyes Moronta entered. Escobar attempted to score on a wild pitch, but the ball bounced off the backstop directly back to catcher Vogt, who beat Escobar to the plate. Moronta got out of the inning on a groundout and a strikeout.
