Max Muncy homered and scored twice, and Kenta Maeda pitched seven scoreless innings for his first victory in more than two months as the host Los Angeles Dodgers blanked the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-0 on Saturday.
Russell Martin had two hits and an RBI, and Kris Negron had an RBI single for the Dodgers, who have won nine of 11 and will attempt to win their fifth consecutive series in the final game of the three-game set Sunday.
Maeda (8-8) gave up three singles and struck out six without a walk. He beat Arizona for the second time this season with his first victory since May 31. He was 0-6 with a 5.26 ERA in 12 appearances since.
Ketel Marte had two of Arizona's four hits and was the only Diamondback to get past first, when he singled in the fourth inning, stole second and went to third on a wild pitch before Maeda struck out David Peralta to end the inning.
Muncy's 28th homer of the year with one out of the second inning off Arizona rookie left-hander Alex Young (4-2) broke the Dodgers' season-long three-game homerless stretch for a 1-0 lead.
Martin doubled to lead off the third inning, and Negron's RBI single make it 2-0 after Justin Turner was intentionally walked with two outs. Negron spent the last two years in Arizona's minor league system.
Martin and Maeda had RBIs when the Dodgers opened a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning. Muncy and Corey Seager walked off Young with one out, and Martin singled in Muncy before Maeda's safety squeeze bunt drove in Seager.
The Dodgers posted their 13th shutout and are a major league-best 47-16 at home. The Diamondbacks had won five of six.
Young gave up five hits and four runs in 3 1/3 innings, with three walks and two strikeouts. He had been 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA in four road appearances.
