Miami @ New York preview
Citi Field
Last Meeting ( Mar 22, 2013 ) NY Mets 4, Miami 2
David Wright only had a minor impact on the offense through the first three games for the New York Mets. Wright looks to get rolling when the Mets host the winless Miami Marlins on Friday to start a three-game series. New York’s captain has batted .322 in his career vs. Miami with 98 RBIs – the most he’s collected against any team. The Mets scored 19 runs in their first two games before they were beaten 2-1 on Thursday by San Diego. Mets cleanup hitter Ike Davis is off to a slow start with one hit in 12 at-bats.
The Marlins have lost their first three games of the season for the first time since going 0-4 in 2001, producing only one run on Justin Ruggiano’s homer against Washington. Miami still has one of the most feared offensive players in the league in Giancarlo Stanton, who is 1-for-9.
TV: 7:10 p.m., Fox Sports Florida, SNY (New York).
PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins RH Alex Sanabia (2012: NR) vs. Mets RH Jeremy Hefner (4-7, 5.09 ERA)
Sanabia was added to the rotation when Henderson Alvarez and Nathan Eovaldi were placed on the disabled list recently. The right-hander was 5-3 in 2010 in 15 appearances and did not have a decision in three 2011 outings before spending last season in the minors. Sanabia, 2-1 with a 4.05 ERA in 13 1/3 innings lifetime against the Mets, will depend on a strong changeup.
Hefner was hit on the right elbow by a comebacker the last week of spring training, but is expected to make his first start. He finished the 2012 season strong by winning his last two starts, including a victory over Miami in which he allowed two runs over 7 1/3 innings. Hefner is 1-0 with a 2.51 ERA in 14 1/3 innings overall against the Marlins. Stanton is 1-for-7 against Hefner with three strikeouts.
WALK-OFFS

3. Marlins 1B Casey Kotchman strained a hamstring on Wednesday and is expected to be placed on the disabled list.
PREDICTION: Mets 7, Marlins 5.
