Pascal Siakam scored 33 points and the Toronto Raptors defeated the visiting Atlanta Hawks 135-128 Wednesday night.
Scottie Barnes added 27 points and 10 rebounds for the Raptors, who ended a four-game losing streak.
OG Anunoby scored 22 points, Dennis Schroder scored 17 points and Gary Trent Jr. had 12 points. Jakob Poeltl had 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Trae Young had 35 points and 17 assists for the Hawks, who have lost five straight.
Bogdan Bogdanovic added 20 points for the Hawks.
Clint Capela had 17 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Dejounte Murray scored 20 points.
Onyeka Okongwu contributed 13 points and Saddiq Bey had 12 points.
The teams will complete the two-game series Friday night.
Toronto took an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Bogdanovic cut the lead to two points with a pair of 3-pointers. The lead went back to eight when Barnes made a layup with 4:57 remaining.
Atlanta led 39-31 after the first quarter.
The Hawks' lead increased to 12 early in the second quarter.
Anunoby's turnaround hook shot cut the lead to three points with 3:52 to play in the first half. Siakam's 3-pointer gave Toronto a one-point lead with 37 seconds remaining. Murray's 3-pointer gave Atlanta a 66-64 halftime lead.
Atlanta shot 53.1 percent (26-for-49) from the field in the first half. Young had 20 points and 10 assists in the first half.
Toronto shot 55.3 percent (26-for-47) from the field in the half as Siakam scored 24 points.
Toronto opened a seven-point lead when Barnes hit a 3-pointer with 8:58 left in the third quarter. Trent's 3-pointer had the lead at eight with 3:35 to go in the quarter. Precious Achiuwa made two free throws and the lead reached 11. Atlanta scored the next seven points. Trent hit a 3-pointer to end the third quarter and give Toronto a 103-95 lead.
The Hawks were without AJ Griffin (personal) and De'Andre Hunter (sore right knee).
