The Los Angeles Clippers haven't been all that stout over the last month as they enter Tuesday's home contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Los Angeles fell to 7-6 over its last 13 games when it lost 114-104 to the host Denver Nuggets on Sunday after a strong 20-7 start.

Paul George (hamstring) will miss his third straight game and Clippers coach Doc Rivers said the team will continue to evaluate the 29-year-old forward. Star forward Kawhi Leonard scored 30 points against the Nuggets for his second 30-point effort in a row and his 10th of the season. Cleveland had a modest two-game winning streak halted Monday when it was pounded 128-99 by the host Los Angeles Lakers. Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson had 17 points and 10 rebounds against the Lakers, and has three straight double-doubles and eight consecutive double-digit rebounding efforts.

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS (12-28): Cleveland was shredded for 81 second-half points by the Lakers and was outscored by 30 in the second half after surprisingly holding a one-point halftime lead. The rumor mill involving power forward Kevin Love continues to percolate and he recorded 21 points and 11 rebounds against the Lakers for his second straight double-double. Forward Larry Nance Jr. (knee) will miss his seventh straight game but the club is hopeful he will return before the six-game concludes against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

ABOUT THE CLIPPERS (27-13): Leonard, guard Lou Williams (26) and big man Montrezl Harrell (25) combined for 81 points against Denver but the rest of the squad totaled 23. But Leonard didn't feel the lack of balance was the biggest problem as he pointed to the second quarter that saw Denver outscore Los Angeles 37-22. "We played pretty consistent for three quarters," Leonard told reporters. "We've got to put all four together."
