The Utah Jazz will look to build on their first win in more than two weeks as they host the Indiana Pacers on Monday night.

Indiana is seemingly scoring at will and now gets to tee off on a terrible Utah defense, which is why I’m taking the Over in my Pacers vs. Jazz predictions below.

Let’s dive into this matchup and look at how to bet this game in my free NBA picks for Monday, February 3.

Pacers vs Jazz prediction

My best bet
Over 240 (-110 at bet365)

My analysis
While the Indiana Pacers have been a solid offensive team all year long, they’ve taken things to a new level over their last few games. Indiana is currently on a streak of scoring 130+ points in three straight outings; unsurprisingly, all three of those games have been wins.

While that level of production is unsustainable, nobody has been able to truly contain Indiana as of late. The Pacers have now scored at least 110 points in each of their seven games. Overall, they are averaging 116.2 ppg and have an offensive rating of 114.8, good for eighth-best in the NBA.

Indiana is benefiting from the fact that its lineup has been healthy as of late, with Pascal Siakam (20.5 ppg), Tyrese Haliburton (18.2 ppg), and Bennedict Mathurin (16.4 ppg) all on the court tonight. That gives the Pacers a wealth of dynamic offensive threats that are difficult for opponents to contend with — partially explaining the otherworldly numbers we’ve seen in the last three games.

It also helps that those games came against average defenses — the Pacers beat the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, and San Antonio Spurs in that stretch — none of which look to slow down the game. That brings us to tonight’s game, where Indiana gets to face off against a Utah Jazz defense that ranks 29th in defensive rating (118.2).

The Jazz are coming off a nice win over the Orlando Magic on Saturday, but that victory marked the end of an eight-game losing streak. Since Jan. 15, six of Utah’s nine opponents have scored at least 123 points, with two more scoring 114 or more. During the eight-game losing streak, the Jazz allowed an average of 125.1 ppg.

But while we focus on how the Pacers offense might shred Utah, let’s not forget that Indiana doesn’t mind giving up plenty of points, too. The Pacers have allowed an average of 121.0 ppg over their last four outings, even as they went 3-1 in that stretch. Utah is largely healthy right now, with Lauri Markkanen (19.4 ppg) and Collin Sexton (18.7 ppg) leading a solid offense that has scored at least 110 points in eight of its last 10 games.

In other words, there are plenty of points to be had tonight on both sides. Despite a high total on this game, I’m still confident that these two offenses — and these two defenses — will combine to hit the Over.

Pacers vs Jazz same-game parlay

Over 239.5

Pacers -7.5

This Over is all about the Indiana offense, and that’s fueling my picks for my same-game parlay. Along with the Over, I’ll also take the Pacers to cover the spread. There's no denying the Pacers will have the major edge tonight and should cruise to an easy victory.

Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
