Tres Tinkle scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and five Oregon State players scored in double figures as the Beavers cruised to an 83-63 victory over Wyoming on Saturday night in Laramie, Wyo.
Ethan Thompson and Kylor Kelley each scored 13 points, Gianni Hunt finished with 11 points, including 3-of-5 3-pointers, and Zach Reichle added 10 points and five rebounds for Oregon State (3-1).
Hunter Maldonado scored 18 points, including 10-of-10 free throws, and grabbed five rebounds and A.J. Banks added 10 points for Wyoming (1-3) which lost its third straight game.
Oregon State, which entered the contest ranked 17th in the nation in 3-point shooting percentage at 44.3 percent, hit five treys in the first 10 1/2 minutes, including three by Hunt, while building a 23-13 lead.
Wyoming closed to within 28-27 on a 3-pointer by Hunter Thompson with 4:09 left in the half but Oregon State ended the half on a 7-2 run capped by a 3-pointer from the left corner by Jared Lucas at the buzzer to go into halftime with a 40-33 lead.
Oregon State broke the game open with a 13-2 run midway through the second half while pushing its lead to 20, 62-42, with Reichle leading the way connecting on three jumpers, including a 3-pointer.
The Beavers led by as many as 27 points, 80-53, on a turnaround jumper by Dearon Tucker with 2:43 to go.
Oregon State shot 49 percent, including 8-of-22 from 3-point range while Wyoming shot 41.7 percent and connected on just 5-of-24 shots beyond the arc.
The Beavers, who outscored the Cowboys, 43-30, in the second half, finished with a 34-27 rebounding edge and forced 15 turnovers. Kelley, hampered by early foul problems, scored 11 of his 13 points after intermission when Oregon State shot 55.2 percent (16-of-29) from the floor.
