Payton Pritchard's 24 points led No. 14 Oregon to a 67-47 win over Texas-Arlington on Sunday night in Eugene, Ore.
Pritchard, a senior, added a team-high-tying eight rebounds, and the Ducks (4-0) held the Mavericks to 23 percent field-goal shooting (15 of 64) for the game. Will Richardson and Addison Patterson added nine points each, and Chris Duarte came back from a knee injury that forced him out of much of the Ducks' win over Memphis on Tuesday to score seven points with seven rebounds.
The Ducks are in the midst of a stretch of four non-conference games against teams that were picked first or second in their respective preseason conference polls, which includes Memphis, Texas-Arlington (picked second in the Sun Belt), Houston and Seton Hall.
A corner three from Patterson gave Oregon an 18-point lead at 54-36 with 8:58 to play in the game. The Ducks led by as many as 16 in the first half.
A stop-and-go layup from Pritchard with 4:51 to play gave Oregon a 61-45 lead, and the Mavericks couldn't catch up.
Forward Jordan Phillips led Texas-Arlington with 14 points, and guard David Azore added 11. Jabari Narcis had nine rebounds to lead the Mavericks.
The Mavericks (2-2) led 14-11 at the 13:59 mark of the first half after a pair of Phillips free throws. The Ducks went on an 18-2 run to take control of the game, with four 3-pointers from four different players in that span.
Oregon took a 37-28 lead into halftime, and out-rebounded UT-Arlington 46-36 overall. The Mavericks took 30 3-point shots and made just six of them.
Next up for UT-Arlington is another nationally ranked powerhouse, No. 8 Gonzaga, in Spokane, Wash., on Tuesday.
