No. 10 Ohio State did what it hoped during a seven-game homestead to start the season.
The Buckeyes made it a perfect record on that stretch of home games, easily dispatching Morgan State on Friday in Columbus, 90-57, to improve to 7-0 to start the season.
The first big test of the season away from Columbus for the Buckeyes will come when they play at North Carolina on Wednesday.
Leading 19-10, Ohio State started to pull away midway through the first half on Friday.
The Buckeyes went on a 12-0 run to take a 31-10 lead with 7:56 remaining until halftime.
Ohio State ultimately took a 45-18 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The second half didn't produce much drama.
Ohio State built its lead to 30 points at 54-24 with 17:26 remaining in the game.
Morgan State (3-6) played the game even from there until Ohio State built its lead to as many as 36 points at 84-48 with 4:33 left.
Senior forward Andre Wesson came off the bench to score 19 points and pull down seven rebounds, junior center Kaleb Wesson had 13 points and eight rebounds, and junior guard CJ Walker scored 10 points to lead the way for Ohio State, which shot 47.6 percent from the field overall (30-for-63) and saw 12 different players score in the game.
Ohio State shot just 36 percent from 3-point range (9 of 25), but made up for that by going 21 of 26 from the free-throw line.
The Buckeyes also outrebounded Morgan State, 43-31, and forced the Bears into 15 turnovers.
Senior guard Stanley Davis scored 13 points to lead the way for the Bears, who made just 2 of 11 shots from 3-point range and shot 37.5 percent from the field overall (21 of 56).
Morgan State has now lost four games in a row following a 3-2 start.
