Payton Pritchard had 19 of his 21 points in the second half to help spur No. 11 Oregon over host California 77-72 in a Pac-12 game at Berkeley, Calif., Thursday night.
Pritchard's eight assists in the game makes him Oregon's career assist leader with 617.
A 14-2 Oregon run, including eight points by Pritchard, gave the Ducks a 72-60 lead with 50 seconds remaining in the game. The Golden Bears did not make a field goal from the 7:40 mark remaining until there were only 29 seconds left on a Matt Bradley dunk.
Oregon withstood a late rally by Cal, which trimmed the 12-point deficit to three points before Pritchard was fouled with one second left.
Bradley had a game-high 25 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field. Kareem South scored 13 points and Paris Austin had 12 followed by Grant Anticevich with 10.
Chris Duarte had 19 points and Will Richardson added 15 for the Ducks (18-4, 7-2 Pac-12).
After Oregon took a 40-34 lead with 17:50 left in regulation, California (9-11, 3-4) went on a 14-2 run behind eight points by South, who made two 3-pointers in that stretch. A free throw by Paris with 12:18 left put Cal ahead 48-42.
Oregon rallied back to tie the game at 55 with a jumper by Pritchard with 8:05 left in regulation.
The game was tied at halftime at 32 after five ties and six lead changes in the half.
The Golden Bears dominated in rebounds in the first half with a 16-8 edge, limiting the Ducks to two offensive rebounds. Oregon wound up tying Cal with 27 rebounds for the game.
Duarte and Richardson combined for 23 points in the first half on 7-of-9 shooting but their teammates were 4 of 13. Pritchard only attempted three shots and had two points.
Oregon's 6-foot-11 freshman center N'Faly Dante missed his third straight game after suffering a knee sprain on Jan. 18 at Washington. He is averaging 6.2 points and 2.7 rebounds over nine games since arriving in early December after reclassifying from the Sunrise (Kan.) Christian Academy.
