McKinley Wright IV had 14 points and eight assists, Evan Battey scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and the Colorado Buffaloes beat the Stanford Cardinal 77-64 at Boulder on Saturday.
Jabari Walker had 11 points and eight rebounds and Jeriah Horne scored 10 points for the Buffaloes (11-3, 5-2 Pac-12). Colorado has won four straight.
Oscar da Silva had a game-high 22 points to go with 12 rebounds, Ziaire Williams scored 17 points and Jaiden Delaire scored 13 for the Cardinal (8-5, 4-3), which has dropped two straight.
The Buffaloes crafted a 14-point lead in the first few minutes of the second half but Stanford was able to get the deficit below 10 several times.
Williams followed a layup by Daejon Davis with two of his own to get the Cardinal within 44-36 and forced Colorado to call a timeout. The teams traded layups and Eli Parquet hit a 3-pointer to make it an 11-point game.
Williams and Battey each had a three-point play, and two free throws by da Silva got Stanford within 56-48 with 12:49 left but the Buffaloes pulled away.
Walker scored off of an offensive rebound, Wright hit a floater in the lane and Walker made a layup off a fast break to put Colorado ahead 62-48. Delaire scored for the Cardinal but the Buffaloes went on a 10-0 run to lead 72-50 with 4:16 remaining.
Colorado led by one with 6:21 left in the first half when it went on a game-changing run.
Parquet started things with a 3-pointer and Walker had a put-back to put the Buffaloes ahead 29-23. Williams hit a 3-pointer for the Cardinal, but after that it was all Colorado for the final 4:02 of the period.
Wright scored on a layup and then fed Maddox Daniels for a 3-pointer before the media timeout. After more than two minutes with neither team scoring, Daniels and Tristan da Silva drained 3-pointers in the final 52 seconds to give the Buffaloes a 40-26 lead at the intermission.
