Gabe Kalscheur posted 15 points to lead Iowa State, which has won consecutive games for the first time in nearly two years. The Cyclones, who went 2-22 last season, including 0-18 in the Big 12, beat Kennesaw State in the season opener on Tuesday.

The Cyclones took a 26-20 lead into the half after holding Oregon State to 31 percent shooting in the first half, including 2-for-12 from the arc.
Iowa State didn't shoot much better, however, entering halftime at 37 percent from the floor and 4-for-17 from 3-point range.
The Beavers took their only lead of the first half at 3-2 and fell behind by as many as 12 points in the opening half before scoring the final six points before the break.
Iowa State missed its final six shots of the first half, all 3-pointers.
The first four shots of the second half for the Cyclones were two-pointers, and they made three of them before Kalscheur sank the first 3-point try of the second half to stretch the lead to 35-24 with 17:03 left.
Iowa State didn't score again until Brockington converted a three-point play with 13:40 left, but the Beavers didn't take advantage of the dry spell and Brockington's points expanded the lead to 38-27.
Rodrigue Andela followed with a layup for the Beavers to cut the lead back to single digits, but Tre Jackson made a 3-pointer for Iowa State to stretch the lead to 41-29 with 12:42 remaining.
Jarod Lucas made a 3-pointer with 5:30 left to cut it back to single digits at 51-42. Oregon State cut the deficit to nine once more, but couldn't pull any closer.
