Derrick Walker scored 14 points, Alonzo Verge Jr. and Keisei Tominaga each had 11 and C.J. Wilcher added 10 to help Nebraska roll past visiting Idaho State 78-60 on Friday night at Lincoln, Neb.
Wilhlem Breidenbach scored nine points, Lat Mayen had eight and Bryce McGowens contributed 6 points and 7 rebounds for the Cornhuskers (2-2), who outscored Idaho State in the paint 42-14 despite each team grabbing 31 overall rebounds.
Robert Ford III scored 13 points, while Austin Smellie had 12 points and four rebounds for the Bengals (1-3), who had a third straight road defeat.
Ahead 45-38, the Cornhuskers went on a 13-2 run to open an 18-point cushion with 12:30 remaining. Kobe Webster had five of his seven points to conclude the spurt.
Idaho State trailed by as many as 26 points at 76-50 and never got inside of 17 points during the final 9:45.
Nebraska led for 36:49 of the 40 minutes.
Walker scored nine points as Nebraska built a 41-31 halftime lead. The Cornhuskers shot 46.2 percent (6 of 13) from 3-point range in the first half.
Nebraska closed the half with a 6-0 run and dominated in bench scoring (16-3) and points (20-6) off turnovers before halftime.
Nebraska played its first game without junior guard Trey McGowens, who's expected to be sidelined 6-8 weeks following foot surgery to repair a broken bone.
