Last Meeting ( Feb 12, 2019 ) Georgia 56, Texas A&M 73

Texas A&M heads to Georgia on Saturday with the lowest-scoring offense in the SEC, but one that maximized its opportunities to knock off Tennessee on Tuesday. The Aggies pulled down 23 offensive rebounds, finished with 16 second-chance points, and shot 22-for-29 from the free-throw line in a 63-58 road victory, capped by senior guard Wendell Mitchell’s 3-pointer and two free throws inside the final minute for their second consecutive SEC victory.

“We shoot a very low field-goal percentage, and so we have to give ourselves the best chance we can on the offensive glass just so we can gain extra possessions,” Texas A&M coach Buzz Williams told reporters after his team shot just 30.4 percent from the field in the victory. Georgia comes into the matchup reeling after two disappointing losses - a 10-point home defeat to Ole Miss (giving the Rebels their first SEC victory), followed by Tuesday’s 72-69 defeat at Missouri after the Bulldogs blew a 20-point lead with 13:33 to play. Georgia started January by upsetting Memphis on the road, but has dropped six of its past seven. “Our offense left us a little bit,” Georgia coach Tom Crean told the media postgame Tuesday. “Bottom line, we did not guard them well enough at the end of the game.”
