Stampeders 29, Roughriders 25: Running back Jon Cornish ran for 109 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown with 1:48 left, while quarterback Drew Tate was 11-for-16 for 181 yards in the second half as host Calgary clinched the West Division title.
Tate added a rushing touchdown in the third quarter and Anthony Parker caught a touchdown pass from Kevin Glenn, who was 11-for-17 for 120 yards in the first half for Calgary (14-3), which will host the West Final on Nov. 17 after a bye week. Kicker Rene Paredes made 3-of-3 field goals.
Quarterback Darian Durant was 17-for-31 passing for 202 yards, one touchdown toss and one rushing touchdown for Saskatchewan (11-6), which saw its three-game winning streak come to an end. Taj Smith caught a touchdown pass with 5:05 left in the fourth quarter to stake the Roughriders to a 25-22 lead.
Tate’s 1-yard run with 7:45 left in the third quarter gave the Stampeders their first lead of the second half after trailing 15-10 at halftime.
Calgary defensive lineman Charleston Hughes had three sacks to increase his league-leading total to 18. The Stampeders recorded seven sacks, while Saskatchewan had three.
