Argonauts 34, Tiger-Cats 33: Ricky Ray ran for a touchdown and threw for another in the final 2:07 of the fourth quarter as host Toronto completed a stunning comeback for its third straight victory.
Hamilton appeared to be en route to its fifth consecutive win as it held a 33-20 lead with time winding down. But Ray had other plans, scoring on a 1-yard run before completing a 69-yard touchdown pass to Chad Owens with 1:14 remaining - with Swayze Waters providing the difference by converting the extra point.
Ray was 34-of-46 for 431 yards with three TDs and an interception for Toronto (6-8), which pulled even with Hamilton atop the East Division. Counterpart Zach Collaros completed 23-of-32 passes for 302 yards and two scores while also rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown for the Tiger-Cats (6-8), which had its season-high four-game winning streak snapped.
Collaros opened the scoring less than six minutes into the game with a 3-yard touchdown toss to Andy Fantuz. Justin Medlock made two of his four field goals to increase the lead to 13-0 before Spencer Watt hauled in a 2-yard pass from Ray just over 11 minutes into the second quarter to get Toronto on the board.
Hamilton restored its 13-point advantage 2:06 later, when Collaros raced into the end zone from 28 yards out. Waters sandwiched field goals around one by Medlock to draw the Argonauts within 23-13, but Collaros connected with Luke Tasker on a 22-yard scoring strike at 11:34 of the third before Toronto made its spirited comeback by scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter.
