Lions 41, Redblacks 3: Kevin Glenn threw three touchdowns as host BC cruised to victory over Ottawa to snap a three-game losing skid.
Glenn was 20-for-27 passing for 345 yards, finding Ernest Jackson, Lavasier Tuinei and Keola Antolin for touchdowns for the Lions (8-7), who improved to 4-4 at home. Jackson led all players with 195 receiving yards and Antolin added 157 rushing yards, while John Beck and Shawn Gore scored rushing touchdowns.
Henry Burris completed 12-of-21 passes for 143 yards for the Redblacks (2-12), who are all but eliminated from playoff contention. Brett Maher scored the only points for Ottawa on a 34-yard field goal.
The Redblacks hung around in the game until late in the second quarter after Maher got them on the board with 3:47 remaining in the first half, cutting BC’s lead to 10-3. Glenn responded with a 60-yard touchdown toss to Jackson 1:17 later and the Lions carried a 17-3 advantage into halftime.
Glenn hit Tuinei for a 9-yard touchdown 5:12 into the third quarter and connected with Antolin for a 3-yard score 2:38 into the fourth. Beck capped the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run late in the game.
GAME NOTEBOOK: BC LB Solomon Elimimian recorded seven tackles, bringing his season total to 121, nine shy of J.C. Sherritt’s record of 130. … Burris reached 3,000 passing yards for the 12th season in his career. … Ottawa KR Roy Finch returned seven kicks for 153 yards.
