Texans 34, Lions 31 (OT): Shayne Graham kicked a 32-yard field goal 12:39 into overtime and Arian Foster rushed for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns as visiting Houston extended Detroit’s Thanksgiving misery.
Matt Schaub passed for 315 yards and a score and Andre Johnson hauled in nine receptions for 188 yards for the Texans (10-1), who turned the ball over once and survived a missed field goal in overtime to win their fifth straight game.
Matthew Stafford went 31-of-61 for 441 yards and two touchdowns, but Jason Hanson had a 47-yard field goal attempt in overtime slam off the upright and the Lions (4-7) turned the ball over once in the extra period. Detroit has lost nine straight on Thanksgiving.
The Lions held a 24-14 lead after opening the third quarter with a 12-play drive that ended with Hanson’s 46-yard field goal. The Texans needed only two plays to respond, with Justin Forsett breaking free for an 81-yard touchdown run.
Houston tied it 24-24 on Graham’s 45-yard field goal later in the third and the teams traded touchdowns in the fourth. Foster’s 1-yard plunge knotted it up at 31-31 with 1:58 to play and Detroit punted on the ensuing possession, sending it to overtime.
