Atlanta @ Tampa Bay preview

Raymond James Stadium

Last Meeting ( Nov 24, 2019 ) Tampa Bay 35, Atlanta 22

Jameis Winston could be playing his final game in a Tampa Bay uniform when the Buccaneers host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Winston, who is dealing with a tiny fracture in his throwing hand, will become the first player in NFL history to compile for 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions in a season if he is picked off twice after throwing four in last week's 23-20 loss to Houston.

Winston leads the league with a career-high 4,908 passing yards and his 31 TD passes are second only to MVP favorite Lamar Jackson of Baltimore, but it's been a rollercoaster season playing in coach Bruce Arians' offense for the first time. "The more that you can understand the concepts in and out, the better you can execute the play," Winston told reporters. "Having one year of experience with these concepts, I know further learning the concepts (and growing) the relationships with the coaches ... will definitely increase performance." The Falcons ride a season-high three-game winning streak into the season finale after defeating Jacksonville 24-12 behind 384 passing yards from Matt Ryan and two touchdowns by Devonta Freeman. Tampa Bay snapped a five-game series slide with a 35-22 victory at Atlanta in Week 12 behind three touchdown passes by Winston - two to Chris Godwin, who is questionable to play Sunday because of a hamstring injury.

TV: 1 p.m. ET, FOX. LINE: Buccaneers -1. O/U: 48

ABOUT THE FALCONS (6-9): Julio Jones caught 10 passes for 166 yards last week, becoming the sixth player in league history to record at least 15 games with 150 or more receiving yards, and also reached 12,000 yards in 125 games - the fastest in NFL annals (Jerry Rice, 142). Ryan (25 touhdowns, 14 interceptions) is fifth in the league with 4,153 yards as he has his ninth straight 4,000-yard season in the books. Vic Beasley has recorded four of his team-high eight sacks in the last four games.

ABOUT THE BUCCANEERS (7-8): Second-year player Ronald Jones recorded 109 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown last week and needs 83 to reach 1,000. Breshad Perriman, who has four of his five TD receptions this season in the last three weeks, caught seven passes for 102 yards versus Houston. Shaquil Barrett is second in the league with 16.5 sacks and is tied with Warren Sapp for most in a season in club history.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Winston and Ryan are the only quarterbacks with 10 or more 300-yard passing games this season.

2. Tampa Bay is third in the league with 29.1 points per game and third-worst at 28.1 allowed.

3. Atlanta gains the third-most passing yards (295.2 per game) while totaling the third-fewest on the ground (84.9).

PREDICTION: Buccaneers 28, Falcons 21
