Arizona @ Florida preview
BB&T Center
Last Meeting ( Mar 21, 2019 ) Arizona 2, Florida 4
The Arizona Coyotes, packed with a three-game winning streak and an uncertain goaltending situation, begin a three-game southeast trip Tuesday against the Florida Panthers. Darcy Kuemper (lower body) hasn't played since Dec. 19 and Antti Raanta (lower body) pulled himself from Saturday's 6-2 victory over Philadelphia after two periods with a 4-0 lead because "he felt something," so Adin Hill could make his first start of the season.
Ivan Prosvetov, who has never played in the NHL, was called up after being pulled from his game with AHL Tucson on Saturday and will likely serve as Hill's backup. Arizona is 4-3-0 without Kuemper, who was a Vezina contender at the time of his injury, and is two points behind first-place Vegas in the crowded Pacific Division as the top five teams are separated by five points. Florida has won seven of its last 10 games after completing a 2-2-0 trip with a 4-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday and sits in a wild-card playoff position in the Eastern Conference. "(Sunday) is something to build off of,'' Panthers coach Joel Quenneville told the media while Florida's Vincent Trocheck, a Pittsburgh native, said after playing his 400th game: “It was good that we played a full 60 minutes. It’s been an issue of ours, coming out flat when we have the lead. (Sunday) we played as well in the third as we did in the first and second.”
