Alex Perez faces off against Tatsuro Taira in the main event of UFC Fight Night betting on Saturday.

This should be a banger between one of the flyweight division's rising stars in Taira and a former title challenger in Perez. UFC odds have installed Taira as the favorite at -180, with Perez coming back at +150.

Here are my best free UFC Fight Night: Perez vs. Taira predictions for June 15 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Perez vs Taira prediction and pick

Fight analysis

Tatsuro Taira has looked sensational so far in his career, going 15-0 with five straight wins inside the octagon. Meanwhile, Perez has fought twice this year, losing by decision to No. 6 contender Muhammad Mokaev in March before knocking out Matheus Nicolau in April.

Although Perez has good defensive wrestling, Taira possesses unorthodox takedowns with trips and sweeps and can use multiple methods to get the fight to the ground. Once Perez is taken down, we've seen him controlled on the mat, and he tends to make mistakes in those positions. That's bad news against Taira, who has terrific grappling ability with fluid transitions and elite scrambling.

While Perez should have better striking, Taira has leveled up his striking in recent bouts. He's been training Muay Thai down the stretch, which will help him deal with his opponent's leg kicks.

This is a bad stylistic matchup for Perez, so back the younger fighter on Saturday.

Best best analysis

Taira's lowest "method to win" prop is by submission, which is listed at +135. That makes sense considering Taira boasts extremely dangerous grappling ability, especially given that Perez was submitted by Figueiredo and Alexandre Pantoja.

However, don't count out Taira's ability to win by knockout, which he did in his last bout. Taira has excellent ground-and-pound skills and always looks to damage his opponents on the mat. I expect Taira to win inside the distance, but I'll take the double method to win prop.
