dos Santos vs Gane Betting Preview

Junior dos Santos is No. 7 in the heavyweight rankings despite coming off three consecutive losses. In his most recent effort in August, he was knocked out by Jairzinho Rozenstruik, following TKO losses to Curtis Blaydes and Francis Ngannou.

Prior to his defeat against Ngannou, "Cigano" had reeled off three straight wins including a TKO victory over Derrick Lewis in March 2019.

The former UFC heavyweight champion has fought plenty of high-caliber opponents in his career, including wins against Stipe Miocic, Cain Velasquez and Frank Mir. dos Santos is a very dangerous striker who prefers to stand up and rely on his boxing.

Ciryl "Bon Gamin" Gane is currently No. 14 in the heavyweight rankings and is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Tanner Boser last December. While many fighters in the heavyweight division don't appear to be in the greatest of shape, Gane is absolutely shredded and looks and moves like an NFL linebacker.

Not just a fantastic athlete, Gane is a very technical striker who excelled in kickboxing and Muay Thai before entering MMA. He's quick, very technically proficient, and can attack from a variety of angles with kicks, knees, elbows and fists. He has also quickly adapted to the grappling side of MMA, with three of his six victories coming via submission.

dos Santos vs Gane UFC Prediction and Betting Pick

PREDICTION: Over 1.5 rounds (-118) - dos Santos is 36, and after three consecutive TKO losses many are questioning his chin. That said, two of those knockouts came against a pair of the hardest hitters in the world in Rozenstruik and Ngannou.

Despite his impressive build, Gane doesn't have anywhere near the one-punch knockout power of those guys and is more of a volume striker. His last fight against Boser went the distance and his previous bout against Don'Tale Mayes was just 14 seconds away from the final bell before he won via submission.

Even in his two knockout victories against Roggers Souza and Adam Dyczka, Gane landed strikes at will, and they just kept eating them for longer than seemed humanly possible. Even at this stage of his career, dos Santos is a far better fighter than those two and should do enough for this fight to go at least past the midway point of Round 2.
