Vieira vs Hernandez Betting Preview

Rodolfo Vieira is a perfect 7-0 in his MMA career, including 2-0 under the UFC banner. He submitted Oskar Piechota in his UFC debut in 2019 and followed that up with a first-round submission win against Saparbek Safarov last March.

Vieira's striking is subpar but he's one of the best grapplers in the world. That's right, not just in the UFC, but across the entire globe. The 31-year-old is a four-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion and a seven-time World Cup champion.

Anthony "Fluffy" Hernandez is 1-2 in his UFC career and is coming off a first-round TKO loss to Kevin Holland last May.

The 27-year-old is an active striker but he's more comfortable on the mat where he can rely on his wrestling and grappling.

Vieira vs Hernandez UFC Prediction and Betting Pick

PREDICTION: Viera to win by submission -190 - Stylistically, this matchup couldn't be any better for Vieira. The Brazilian has plenty of holes in his striking and ate some big shots in his two UFC fights; getting cracked by Piechota and taking a front kick to the face from Safarov.

Fortunately for Vieira, "Fluffy" doesn't have the kickboxing ability or power to take advantage of that weakness. Hernandez is more of a grappler himself, with five of his last six wins coming by submission. That said, while his grappling is impressive, Vieira is on a whole other level when it comes to jiu-jitsu skills.

While both fighters are listed with identical height and weight, Vieira looks absolutely massive when compared to Hernandez and should have a significant edge when it comes to strength as well as grappling technique.

With six of Vieira's seven career MMA wins coming by submission, and Hernandez losing by anaconda choke in his UFC debut two years ago, back Vieira to win by sub. And if the -190 payout isn't enough to make you bite, consider the Round 1 Viera submission at +115.
