Best WNBA Player Props for 9-25: Best Bets for Caitlin Clark, Alyssa Thomas & Kahleah Copper

A triple-double in Game 1 is no easy feat, but Alyssa Thomas possesses both the skill — and teammates — to stuff the stat sheet again in Game 2.

The Indiana Fever and Phoenix Mercury look to bounce back after going down 1-0 in the first round of the playoffs, but both will have their hands full.

Struggling stars and the most underrated player in the league highlight my top WNBA picks for this Game 2 doubleheader on Wednesday, September 25.

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Prop bet #1: Caitlin Clark Under 25.5 points+rebounds

-115 at bet365

It’s hard to blame Caitlin Clark for struggling in her playoff debut, but it went even worse than expected. She shot just 23.5% from the floor while finishing with 11 points, eight assists, and four rebounds.

It could be a similar story in Game 2 with how ferocious the Connecticut Sun’s defense has been this season. The Sun ranked first in defensive rating (96.4) and allowed the fewest points per game in the WNBA (73.6) in the regular season.

Connecticut also matches up perfectly with Clark because it allows the fewest 3-pointers per game (6.5) and the second-lowest 3-point percentage in the league (31.3%). Game 1 wasn’t the first time Clark struggled against this Connecticut lineup, either.

While the unanimous ROY averaged 19.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game this season, she’s put up just 15.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in five meetings with the Sun.

Clark’s passing still shined through in Game 1, so I’m focusing just on her scoring and rebounding in this matchup — especially with Connecticut allowing the fewest rebounds per game this season (31.7).

Prop bet #2: Alyssa Thomas Over 18.5 assists+rebounds

+100 at bet365

Not only does Alyssa Thomas lead the charge on defense, she also remains the only passer in the WNBA on the same level as Clark.

This season she was second in the league in assists per game (7.9) while adding the ninth-most rebounds per game (8.4), and she flexed her playmaking in Game 1 against the Fever. Thomas put up 23 combined assists and rebounds while finishing with a triple-double.

She completely took advantage of Indiana’s lackluster defense by feeding DeWanna Bonner (22 points) and Marina Mabrey (27 points). With those two scoring at a high level, I expect Thomas to rack up apples again.

The Fever have one of the worst defenses in the league, allowing the second-most points per game (87.7) while having the second-worst defensive rating (109.5) this season. They’re also prone to giving up assists after allowing the fourth-most per game (21.4).

With Thomas being a dominant passer out of the low post and both Bonner and Mabrey being consistent 3-point threats, that trio should completely expose Indiana's perimeter defense. The Fever allowed the second-most 3-pointers per game (9.2) and the second-highest 3-point percentage this season (36.1%).

Thomas is averaging a combined 21.2 assists and rebounds in five games against Indiana.

Prop bet #3: Kahleah Copper Under 20.5 points+assists

-110 at bet365

Don’t let Kahleah Copper’s 21.1 points per game in the regular season fool you. She’s been one of the most disappointing players in the league down the stretch.

While Copper did finish with the third-most points per game in the WNBA, her production has fallen off a cliff since late August.

Over her last nine games, including Game 1 against the Lynx, the PHX guard is averaging just 14.2 points per game. And while I’d happily bet the Under on her points line (16.5) to give me a little more breathing room, I’m also adding assists in.

She only averaged 2.3 assists per game in the regular season and that’s dropped to 2.0 during her nine-game skid.

Copper hasn’t looked like herself, and on top of that, Minnesota is also a tough matchup for any scorer. The Lynx ranked second in defensive rating this season at 96.5 and allowed the second-fewest points per game (75.6).

For a shooter like Copper, they’re even more difficult to score on because they allow the lowest 3-point percentage in the league (30.1%).

Copper has only topped 20.5 points and assists once over her last nine games,
