Argonauts vs Redblacks predictions
Argos -10.5 (-110)
The Argos are fresh off an overtime victory against the Lions to improve their record to 7-4 and clinch a playoff spot. They have a one-game lead over the Tiger-Cats and Alouettes in the East Division standings and have won four of their last five contests.
Toronto has dealt with injuries all season but continues to play at a high level. While their receiver corps has been banged up, the Argos still rank third in the league with 269.5 passing yards per game.
The Reblacks have been the CFL's worst team, going 2-21 SU and 5-18 ATS in their last 23 games going back to 2019. Both of their outright wins and four of their five covers during that span came against Edmonton, who is arguably the second-worst team in the league.
This Ottawa squad is brutal on both sides of the ball, ranking last in the league in total offense (290.2 yards per game) and total defense (387.8 ypg allowed), as well as scoring offense (15.4 points per game) and scoring defense (28.6 ppg allowed).
Not only have the Redblacks been losing games, but they've also been consistently getting blown out with nine of 10 losses this season coming by at least 11 points — including a 35-16 defeat against the Argos on October 6. With the Argos line for this game currently at -10.5, grab that number before it gets any bigger.
Under 46 (-110)
The Over has cashed in six straight games for the Argos, thanks in large part to a defense that has shown cracks. However, their best defensive lineman, Shawn Oakman, is healthy after being hurt last week, and Cameron Judge returns at linebacker after missing more than a month of action. That should help them shut down a pathetic Ottawa offense that has scored more than one touchdown in just two of 12 games this year.
The Reblacks' top-two quarterbacks, Dominique Davis and Matt Nichols, just came off the six-game IL but Devlin "Duck" Hodges will make his first start. Regardless of who has been under center for the Redblacks this year, they've been unable to move the ball, and a lack of weapons at the skill positions and a brutal offensive line haven't helped matters.
Meanwhile, the Argos have seen their depth at wide receiver and offensive line decimated by injuries and have yet to score more than 24 points on the road this year, averaging 17.5 ppg in six away contests. Take the Under.
