Redblacks vs Argonauts Prediction, Picks & Odds for Week 20

Ottawa isn't the same team when away from home, and things won't get any easier against the Argonauts in Toronto.

There's only one game in CFL Week 20 that matters, and it's a showdown between the Ottawa Redblacks and Toronto Argonauts.

Toronto can clinch home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs with a win here, and my Redblacks vs. Argonauts predictions expect them to get it.

Here are my best free CFL picks for this East Division clash on October 19.

Redblacks vs Argonauts prediction

My best bet
Argonauts -4.5 (-106 at FanDuel)

My analysis
The Ottawa Redblacks struggle away from home, giving up 32.3 ppg on the road. They've also been extremely banged up on both sides of the ball, which has led to them going 1-6 straight up and against the spread in their last seven games.

Ottawa is getting back a few key players this week, including quarterback Dru Brown and linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox, who has been out since August.

That said, I still don't trust a secondary getting torched for 306 passing yards per game and 9.2 yards per pass attempt over the last six contests. Especially with Toronto Argonauts QB Chad Kelly averaging 302.9 passing yards per game and 9.1 yards per attempt.

On the other side of the ball, Ottawa's offensive line has struggled in recent weeks after losing left tackle Dino Boyd. The Argos lead the league with 44 sacks and picked up seven on the road last week against a stout Winnipeg line.

Their ability to bring pressure from every spot on the line could lead to a long day for Brown, whose mobility might still be compromised by that high ankle injury.

The Argos are getting healthy at the right time and are coming off back-to-back wins against the first-place Blue Bombers and Alouettes. Look for them to win and cover here.

Redblacks vs Argonauts same-game parlay (SGP)

Argonauts -4.5

Chad Kelly 275+ passing yards

Dru Brown 275+ passing yards

Both defenses have been solid against the run but are vulnerable against the pass, so expect both sides to lean on their aerial attacks. Kelly was picked off four times by Ottawa in Week 14, but a couple of those weren't really his fault, and he finished with 463 passing yards despite messy weather.

Brown threw for 359 yards in that game, and Ottawa is happy to have him back in the lineup, with star WR Justin Hardy also returning after missing last week.

The Argos are second-last in the league in yards allowed per pass attempt (8.67) and opponent pass efficiency (102.4), so both QBs should move the ball here.
