Friday night football features a West Division battle between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Calgary Stampeders.

My Roughriders vs. Stampeders predictions expect a high-scoring shootout at McMahon Stadium, so let's dive deeper into our CFL picks for Friday, September 20.

Roughriders vs Stampeders prediction

My best bet
Over 50.5 (-120 at FanDuel)

My analysis
The Saskatchewan Roughriders enter Week 16 on a four-game losing streak, and despite all of those losses coming by five points or less, the passing defense remains a serious issue.

The Riders' secondary has been absolutely shredded this season, surrendering 296.8 passing yards per game, including 22 completions of 30+ yards — ranking third-worst in the CFL.

Meanwhile, the Calgary Stampeders' defense has been even worse, sporting the league's worst mark in yards allowed per play (7.7). The Stamps have given up 30+ points in four of their last five games, and their D-line continues to struggle at generating pressure up front — averaging just 1.62 sacks per contest.

With Saskatchewan's offense gaining momentum since quarterback Trevor Harris rejoined the team in Week 1l and Calgary eclipsing the full game Over in five of its last six games, Friday night at McMahon promises no shortage of points.

Roughriders vs Stampeders same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 50.5

Trevor Harris Over 294.5 passing yards

Reggie Begelton Over 73.5 receiving yards

Since returning from the IL, Trevor Harris has averaged 300 passing yards per game, surpassing 350 in two of those four starts. The veteran continues to develop chemistry with WRs Kian Schaffer-Baker and Samuel Emilus, and he will need to lean on his gunslinging ways in this matchup.

Reggie Begelton has really found his stride down the stretch for Calgary, posting 100+ receiving yards in three of his last five games, with a solid 92-yard performance in one of the outliers. The two-time CFL All-Star has been targeted a team-high 103 times heading into this clash, and I anticipate QB Jake Maier to look his way constantly against this porous Saskatchewan secondary.
