Hey Gang,
Well, today we have Forrest and Baldomir doing battle for a "title" at 154 pounds. There are a lot of questions surrounding both fighters with CB moving up in weight, and Forrest's never ending list of injuries that really have appeared to hindered his entire boxing career.
On paper this fight appears to be a mismatch. Forrest has the height, reach, and weight (although Forrest rarely fights these days) advantage, as well as a huge edge in amateur and professional quality of opposition. CB has 13 losses and his biggest wins are over the talented, but flaky Judah, and a weathered Arturo Gatti. Now, I must say, I thought Quartey beat Forrest, and in my opinion he (Forrest) looked terrible in that fight. I felt his injuries were still ever present, and his inactivity really has done nothing but hurt him once he steps in the ring.
CB is a tough guy that comes forward in a plodding type style. Anyway who compares CB to Mayorga’s style is out of their mind. Mayorga comes at you with reckless abandonment that is nowhere near the style of Baldomir. Also, don’t forget that Mayorga punches much harder the CB.
If Forrest is able to use his long jab, and drop a few right hands on the noggin’ of Baldomir just to keep him tentative enough that he waits a bit too long before he applies EFFECTIVE pressure on Forrest, I think he will have laid the perfect plan down to beat Baldomir. I would also hope Forrest would focus a bit to the body of CB, but that is something we will have to wait and see. I don’t put much stock into the bodywork of Forrest (he lost a point for a low blow against Ike.)
Of course I must factor in Forrest’s injuries and the fact his arm may fall right off in the ring, but even an injured Forrest can still beat CB. Forrest is a seasoned fighter and knows what he is doing in the ring. He has been fighting with these injuries for so long should his arm fall off; he would simply use his better hand and his still relatively fresh legs to halt the attack of Baldomir.
I think this is a case where Forrest is just the overall better fighter and should he lose to Baldomir, his career is over. If he cannot beat the plodding in your face style of CB, he has little chance against the elite guys in the game.
If Forrest is still truly injured (are these injuries ever going to heal?) but functioning at least 65 percent or better, he will do just enough to beat CB over the 12 round distance. I imagine if he is injured CB will have some nice rounds where Forrest tries to conserve his limbs, but I still see him doing enough to win.
Should Forrest come into this bout relatively healthy (85 percent or better) I think he has a real chance to stop CB. I know, he has a chin of granite, but he does also swell and cut very easily. He has no defense and a healthy Forrest will be cracking him all night with one-two’s that will mark up his face. He may still be standing when it is stopped, but a healthy Forrest will have plenty of opportunities to lay some leather to the face of Baldomir.

If it is showing at 10PM on your guide that channel it is on tape delay.

The telecast come on at 10:15 Eastern Time.
They are showing the BHop-Winky replay before showing Forrest-Baldo live.
Yes, so for all of the west coast viewers, that is going to 7:15PM, anything later is on tape delay. Some of my channels have the tape delay broadcast while others have the live version.

Thanks Always! I honestly don't know if we will ever see a healthy Forrest again, but just in case, I thought I would throw a few tidbits out there about how I feel a healthy Forrest would just pick Baldy apart.

Yep, the line really moved crazy fast on Forrest. I actually could have got him even lower, but I never anticipated such a quick line move. When it started up the ladder I made my move (glad I did now that he is -200 some places!)

I'm adding Baldy/VT starts Round 3. "yes"
Also adding Baldy/VF goes 1:30 of Round 5. "yes"
I'm not real sure who will win??? Very even fight to me. I see good takes backing up each side above me in this thread. But I do feel good that this one will last a while, if not all nite.
GLA!
bigeii
and the prices your taking on those as I see is to start round 3 -2850
and start round 5 -1100 ?
Why takes such big juice for little payout?

If I were certain Forrest was healthy I would drop a load on him no problem. However, there are questions regarding his health (have been for awhile.) Since everyone has a different definition of "big plays" I really cannot say for certain how much you should put down. Always put down around a grand to win 600 and I would not sweat that type of bet on this fight.
