I know i answered this question already.. but i just have to emphasize this. (blame it on the grey goose) This is boxing. Matches are fixed regularly, people are paid to take dives, refs are paid to cheat judges are paid  to cheat...This is boxing folks.. This is boxing!!! And if you think this line of thinking is whacky! well i got beach front property to sell you in down town vegas.

Some one betting pacman for no other reason than the fix is in for pacman to win this so the whole world can tune into pacman v Mayweather has a a legitimate shot to win their bet.

Matter of fact i might end up betting pacman even if he is simply out  matched because i am that confident this match will be fixed. (flipside of that bet is that if you bet pacman to win, and he loses then you are screwed because the books will slap big juice on mayweather  vs cotto. Mayweather v pacman should have great odds for mayweather fight. May even be better than the hatton laugher.

I agree the match seems fixed.

Arum is pitting his two fighters together.

When I smelled a rat is when Cotto was fighting a hard fight against Clottey... and Bob Arum and Pac-man were sitting together targeting Cotto as the next fight.. that was so weird to me.

Why would Arum and Pac-man be so interested in Cotto, Mosley was begging for the fight against Pac-man .why was Pac-man RINGSIDE for Cotto's fight?

Then you have pacman's last 3 fights, which were a JOKE. Pac-man hasn't been in a legit fight since Marquez I and II, since then he has taken the "money" route and I don't mean Money Mayweather.

Freddie Roach is hand picking fighters that have NO shot against Pac-man.

On paper the only thing Pac-man has over Cotto is hand speed.

People think Pac-man is some serious power puncher, he ISN'T. He punched Oscar ALL NIGHT and the only thing that stopped the fight was SPEED.

The one shot KO from Pac-man against Hatton is a joke, Hatton was already headed into retirement and took one last pay day, his troubles outside the ring (alcohol) started after Mayweather Ko'd him.

Take Marquez, he stunned him 3 times in the first fight in the first round after that didn't touch him.

Second fight he dropped  Marquez once I believe in the 11th.

Eric Morales beat pac-man easily the first fight. The weight issues in the next two made pac-man look good.

Now I know I said Cotto has a weak chin, but he isn't fighting a TRUE welter weight.

It's not that he has severe chin issues, he doesn't know how to REACT when HIT or hurt.

He has gotten better the past few fights. Pac-man is not a heavy puncher, stinging left hand yes but not at 147.

If this was a legit fight I would say the real Danger for Cotto would be the first 4 rounds, where Pac-man is most dangerous.

Cotto does best when he is the BIGGER man, he can punch to the body and land heavy punches.

Too bad I smell a rat in this fight, and I wouldn't touch this fight.

Pac-man fight is already set, question is by ko or UD? I don't see Bob Arum and Freddie Roach taking a fight they can lose.  This fight is fixed even more than the Cotto/Clottey fight.

Remember Cotto is on his way out, Manny has quite a few pay days left, no way Arum lets his two fighters damage each other.

Check out a yahoo article, Pac-man is not even talking about Cotto  he is already saying "Mayweather won't fight me".. why does he have so much confidence against Cotto? Cotto is NO walk in the park if this fight wasn't fixed.

So much confidence he only refers to Mayweather as his  NEXT fight.

I know I will get a lot of slack for this post, but honestly this is the way I see it.

Remember BOB ARUM and Pac-man sat together SCOUTING COTTO while COTTO was fighting Clottey that always stuck out in my head and wondered what Arum was up to!

Pick who you like, but Like the Clottey/Cotto fight this one is fixed and will go Pacman's way.

Danno it's being called realistic, you said I was crazy when I said the Marquez/Floyd was an "agreement" and that the whole Mosley thing was scripted.. guess what?

They admitted Mosley was scripted.. and I believe someone came on and said the "fix was in" because he was at the fight and the lady knew where the money was going "Floyd by decision".

It's a sad state boxing is in. I knew I would get slack  for writing that post, but it's how I feel about this fight. I will not hold back when I feel strongly about this.

I know it sucks to log on and want to see great discussion about an upcoming big event and see some posts like this.

 I don't get any enjoyment by calling a fight a fix. I wish it was truly a legit fight and it would be a darned good one and we could be discussing real odds.

Who admitted it was scripted?  Floyd kicked Marquez's ass.  Where was the fix?  Because he didn't KO him?  Floyd NEVER goes for the kill.  He one-punched Hatton, and that's how he got that KO. 

 

Pacquiao and Cotto are going to go to war.  They are going to try to hurt each other badly.  The better man is going to win that fight, and right now, I'm not sure who that is.  If you don't believe that, then you shouldn't watch boxing anymore.

 The week after the fight, on the replay they were discussing it. Mayweather himself wasn't scripted, Mosley WAS.. they said Hopkins was telling Mosley what to say urging him to do it. Watch the replay of the fight, if you need a link I will be glad to give it to you.

The Marquez fight was set up, you choose not to believe it, check the POST of that thread,  someone who attended the fight  Nc1Capper came on and said it was "fixed".


Telling someone they shouldn't watch boxing anymore because I believe the FIX is in is silly and disrespectful.

I wasn't aiming to be disrespectful, but I can see that's how I came off.  I'm just saying that if you believe that the outcome of this fight is predetermined, then I wouldn't expect you to be watching it.  I guess I'm just a sucker.  This is the biggest fight of the year in boxing, and I'm too naive to believe that the fix is in.  Congrats to all those of you who will be making tons of money betting Pacquiao.

You gotta be kidding me. As a gambler.. boxing is an interesting side show. This is my big bail out wall street bonus. Watching some overated public bozo get knocked the fuck out has been ez money starting from mayweather v oscar through hatton (hoo baby i can still remember them hos from tony vees in vegas licking my balls off that shit) through pacman v oscar and pacman vs hatton.


Now if you are stupid as hell and have a penchant for losing money on what should otherwise be fun free trips in the worst vegas economy in history thats you probe. Me , i have no qualms about hitting up vegas casinos for large loot for free fight weekends even when those same casinos cant grasp the fact  that i can fucking count the hell out of black jack and should not even be allowed near their tables..(i guess they get fooled when i slam double bets in their sports book and buy back that shit at a 10% loss across the street)  but hey this is vegas..


Mayweather vs Pacman (or highly unlikely cotto) is my big trip to vegas next year. I dont give a rats ass what you say..Pacman will win that fight via hook or crook. I dont really care because pretty boy will out point the fuck out the second biggest boxing fraud after vicky fucking hatton! (funny as that may seem that will be my fucking ticket to Rio 2014...world cup) Yes i am that fucking confident!!!!(and i pray to god you know the meaning of the world cup to understand my willingness to plan that around a mayweather vs pacman fight 4 years early)

I am sorry for not keeping a long posting history. But if you follow the logic of my post you would have made money betting pretty boy v oscar
pretty boy vs hatton,  pacman vs oscar, pacman vs hatton, Pretty boy vs Marquez..

If you read my post you probably wont get burned betting pacman vs cotto and u sure as hell will make money betting Pretty boy vs
Pacman or (cotto if  some how makes it out of that maze but i dont see that shit happening in a million years)

FYI, I am on record as backing Pacquiao against DeLaHoya and Hatton, both by KO. 

I'm not sure how I'll bet the Cotto fight, or if I'll bet it at all.  I just wish I got the newsletter that you guys got about the fight being fixed.

Danno call me a sucker also, I will be WATCHING the fight.  I know it seems weird two of the most respected fighters in boxing thinking a fight can be fixed.

It may be hard to swallow, and I HOPE I am wrong and we do see a war, because if it isn't fixed it will be an amazing fight because we know on paper this fight is very good.

I'm a boxing FAN before being a bettor, not sure how many are here. Boxing is one sport I'd rather see a WAR than have a fixed or mismatched fight.

I can see why it came off  like that we both love boxing, last thing someone wants for the fight of the year is for someone to say the fight is fixed.

For the record I will not be betting the fight and I will be hoping for a WAR (same side as you).

I'm on the fence of who I think will win (again if it isn't fixed).

I can see pac-man coming out blistering and possibly get the early Ko... but flip the coin, Cotto is the bigger man and when he is, he's a great body puncher and has a good jab when he uses it.

My call IF it's legit.. would be Pac-man by decision.

I can see why you're on the fence about which man to pick as the match up is very intriguing.

Sorry I know it seems like it would be a bettors dream come true, but I'm a boxing fan and want to see the fight that was signed on paper in a contract which is two offensive fighters .. one much faster one much bigger.. in which SHOULD be a good fight.

I would trade a fix in for a WAR any day I love boxing.

I pray it's not a fix and we are treated to an amazing fight!

I can understand why some will be pissed by me writing it, but its how I feel, and again I pray I'm wrong because like many of us here I love boxing it's the one sport you can actually NOT even bet and have an amazing time!

Rich I think you now your stuff but a fight like this fixed! No way man!! Not as big a fight of this magnitude or signifance. Cotto is the proudest Puerto Rucian you can get. He has a god there. No way he takes a dive for anyone!

This fight was put together because as you have pointed out yourself. Cotto's star is on the wane. Next year this fight would not be made because I believe Cotto would lose to Mosley in a rematch, to Paul Williams and even Andre Berto would start with a good chance against him. Those kind of fights (Like the Clottley fight) make no sense for Cotto right now and his stock would fall too far for the Pacman fight to be made.

In Pacman he has the perfect matchup where the money will be huge. The timing is perfect for Arum. But there is a gamble involved here. If Pacman wins, Mayweather will almost be forced to fight him or risk completely having his legacy tarnished. I still don't think the fight will ever happen no matter what BUT Arum stands in a strong negotiating position if Pacman wins and Pacman will be pound for pound best if Floyd won't fight him.

Arum is assuming Pacman will win. If Cotto losses he will probably have one or 2 big fights like an Andre Berto fight and then retire a rich man after a great career. If Cotto wins Rich, I know Arum will be disgusted. The Mayweather fight will be done for and in Cotto he will have a fighter who 1) Mayweather will never fight 2)who will lose his next big test against a legitimate welterweight.

But to say this fight is fixed is nonsense mate. 2 proud warriors would never take a dive no matter what the money on offer. They are rich enough as it is. You won't see twpo more honest guys in the ring. This is Bob Arum's big gamble. If it fails he is still a rich man. If it succeeds he holds all the cards and boxings biggest superstar no matter how much Money disagrees!

Floyd should take the pacman fight as its win win. He will beat a legend, he will make a sh!t load of money doing so and his legacy cemented. I would love to see Floyd fight the Pacmans, Williams and Mosleys of this world. That will never happen. I Just hope we all get to see Pacman v Money..

Mack I agree to a certain point, I know Cotto will not take a DIVE, but I know Arum knows Cotto isn't at his peak anymore.

I don't believe  Pac-man would take a dive, but you cannot look past his last 3 opponents they were guaranteed wins, did he even get hit once?  Why pursue Cotto so badly and dodge Mosley... and other fghters? Why Cotto? Another easy target?

When was the last fight you seen Pac-man take one hit? Marquez I and II.. since then it's been washed up fighter after fighter.

Pac-man is pulling a Mayweather- at least Mayweather fought Oscar at 154 before he was washed up and Hatton while he was undefeated and not a drunk.

Pac-man is the biggest grossing ppv draw since Oscar.. if this fight is legit, this is the WORST Gamble for Bob Arum.

We know Floyd would take apart Cotto, he will not exchange and box Cotto silly.

Naturally the only fight for Pac-man would be Floyd...but if Cotto wins.. that's all out the window.. I just cannot see Bob Arum taking a high risk fight where one of his fighters lose a ton of value.

I agree Cotto is NOT a dive taker, he has fought 3 tough fights in a row while Pac-man has fought 3 of the easiest fights in his career.

Just doesn't make sense, why Arum would do this. The world wants Pac-man and Floyd...

Like I said I hope I'm wrong.. I hope this isn't like pacman's last 3 fights. I hope we get a war.

Aside from my thoughts.. of a fix.

I see the first 4 rounds being dangerous for Cotto, I cannot wait to see how Pac-man takes his first 147 punch.

If the fight that is on paper comes to fruition, we are in for a hell of a fight.. and if it's legit .. Cotto by KO would be an excellent prop, because I believe Pac-man will win on points if he lasts 12 rounds.

I like Cotto when he is the bigger man, he goes to the body, something missing in his past 3 fights.

Pac-man will seem like a dwarf compared to Mosley,Margarito,and Clottey... but Pacmans speed could earn him a decision... and we can finally see if pac-man carries a punch at 147.. if he does it will force May weather to fight him.

Again I say it over and over I HOPE I'm WRONG. We all love boxing here, and I hope we are treated to an amazing fight.

Nc I hope I'm wrong! :) $10 bucks at a watering hole, sounds like something I should be doing lol! Enjoy the fight (and whatever other fights occur in the watering hole)

Rich I agree with your thinking on this fight. Its either Manny on points or a Cotto KO.I personally don't see any other outcome and I have bet both.

Just to add there is NO WAY Arum would ever put Pacman in against Mosley. A guy who walks around at 160, with Mosleys speed and ring saavy = Disaster for Manny. I would bet the mortgage on Mosley if that fight ever happens and believe me it won't. I feel sorry for Sugar Shane no one wants to fight him. Can't be the life of me think why himself and Paul Williams can't do some business.

Mayweather is the fight Pacman wants now. There is nothing else left for him. The names like Bradley/Khan etc at 140 are not big enough names. Marquez star has waned and Pacman wouldn't want that fight so thats a no go. To secure a good start to negotations for the Mayweather fight the ONLY direction Pacman could go was Cotto. If he can win that fight, how can Mayweather ask for a 65/35 spilt in the purse. H E can't and Arum nows this too.

Pacman wants to make 25 million for fighting Mayweather then he is out. This great little fighter has 2 fights left. His last fight will be either a Cotto rematch or the Fight we all want to see..

There's a good reason why you don't hear anyone calling out Paul Williams's name south of 160. That fight would be terrible for Mosley.

I believe Mosley is fighting Berto.. it's sad Mosley and Williams cannot get fights. I agree Williams would be too fast too rangy too much stamina for Mosley.

Looks like Williams move up to 160 wasn't a bright move, he should of stood at 147 and force major fights.

I think Williams should fight Clottey since.. Clottey was on the under card and he got shafted too.. Personally Clottey comes in at fight night close to 170 he would be heavier than Paul Williams.

I don't think anyone from 147-160 can beat Williams.

It would be a risk for Mosley to fight Williams no doubt but what has he got to lose?. Its a big money fight that would do alot for both fighters. No one expects him to win so if he did what a way to sign off. Of Course Mosley wants Mayweather. Its a fight he can actually win and he will  make more money doing so but surely Sugar knows Floyd will not take this fight. Berto is not a big enough name in my eyes and I am surprised Mosley would go down this route.
