Can’t believe it’s the last game of the year until November’s mid conference games. Definitely has been worthwhile as we have the 2 best teams facing on another.
Why Purdue?
Uconn has been untouchable in the tourney. Most blowouts has been due to teams unable to guard Clingan and grab defensive boards (SD State, Illinois). I thought Bama did a great job attacking the rim, and making UConn play on its heels. The X factor was Defense and Bama plays none!
Purdue will be the best defense UConn has faced this season! Can UConn execute their off ball picks and screens? Absolutely. But Edey filling the paint makes a world of difference. UConn’s Perimeter shooting, and knocking down 3s will be UConn’s strategy . But…I think Purdue’s guards understands the assignment and will make it difficult for UConn to get in a rhythm and knock open shots. Purdue guards arent as physical as UConn’s, but one thing that sticks out is their ability to take the charge…Ive seen UConn guards throw a little elbow to get their defenders off. I believe Purdue guards has the ability to stay on their feet and play smart…Unless UConn can attack the paint (very doubtful) , their outside shooting worries me w/ Purdue’s guards capability to help, slide, and rotate defenders around.
Edey will for sure struggle to get in paint shots with Clingan’s size, but nobody realizes the of Edey vs Clingan…he’s is a 2 inches taller, and 20 lbs heavier. Edey’s size and power is nothing Clingan has ever faced. UConn will need to drop defenders to help, but that goes against what Purdue is great at this year…and that’s Edey finding open shooters with the double.
+6.5 is a lot, considering all the above. It who knows, I’m going against the unbelievable streak UConn has had with covering…. I think the line should be closer to Purdue +2….the trend has this line inflated way too much!

A bit off topic…just checked out Washington University, and I was impressed to the max. Great open campus environment, restaurants, building architecture. I’ve visited several campuses on the Pacific side, and UW hands down is #1 on my list.

You are a respected capper on this site but you continue to make no sense when it comes to UConn games. Edey is slow, stands up with the ball, as evidenced by his 6+turnovers when NC St doubled him after when he got the ball. UConn guards are too big and physical for nerdy Lawyer and Purdue cannot shoot threes as well as Alabama, not even close. UConn is bigger, stronger and faster, Clingan and Samson will have Edey gasping for air in the 2nd half. Purdue would not have even beat Alabama. Uconn by double digits again. UConn has been a printing press for money in their last 11 tournament games. Take the blinders off dude.

Close 1st half UConn adjusts 2H beats them by DD … UConn too deep they got 10 guys who play while Purdue doesn’t have a great bench .. I think Purdue shot their load . Dan Hurley way better coach then Matt Painter that’s the x-factor

Dude, we are offering VERY valid counter arguments to his pick
OBVIOUSLY, Huskies own distinct advantages in NCAA tournament games with class, pedigree, experience, and most importantly, COACHING. They've been there, done that GOING for 2nd straight title. Poodoo, this is first tourney in a while they got out of 2nd round
Were fortunate to play Cinderella NC State to get to TITLE tilt. No Good deed goes unpunished..
UConn might blow them out in first half alone and AFTER that, we all know about them 'going for the jugular " That's their History.

purdue has played no one last game was their toughest challenge and the second best player did not play the whole game and they only pulled away very late
if they can hold eddy to 28 or under they should win by 10+

I agree that UConn is the better team & should win, but disagree with one particular sentence you posted. "Purdue cannot shoot threes as well as Alabama, not even close." Actually, Purdue shot over 40% this season from 3, 2nd in the nation.

I agree with everything you said, including bags being a respected capper. But the one thing few ppl continue to not mention is Hurley being a much better coach than Painter.
