The thing that concerns me about baking Duke is no inside game and WVA will play them very hard inside.  This game IMO, will come down to the wire with WVA pulling it out.  If you take away the perimeter shooting of Duke and/or they have an off day beyond the arc they are very beatable and in this setting WVA could exploit that into a 8-10ot during this game.

wvu isnt a poorly coached team either.  huggins will surely be able to come up with a plan to stop a team that has no offense except jacking up  threes.

2 posts up you just said they weren't in the Top 3.

There are arguments that you can make for WVU winning today. But when you jump in and the 1st post you make is proclaiming a double digit victory by WVU because the ACC is a fraud is just laughable. It gives the rest of your comments no credibility at all.

WVU isn't exactly a team with a HUGE inside presence.  I think that is why this is a favorable matchup for Duke.  Sure, Joe Alexander is good, but he is no power post player.  He is very similar to Kyle Singler.  Duke actually has a higher rebounding avg than this team.  The knock all year on Duke is that they can't hang on the boards, but it's the same for WVU.  This game will come down to who is hitting 3's and back court D.  I will take the Dukies to wake up and shoot well (after two bad performances chances are good), and to win the turnover battle by pressuring the hell out of the WVU guards

wvu doesnt really have an inside scoring threat but they are also a better rebounding team then duke.

ya before the tournament i had them 3rd now i have them 5th.  clemson being your 3rd team losing to a team that doesnt even belong in the tournament is inexucusable.  duke needing a miracle to beat belmonts inexucusable.  miami will most likely be out vs texas.  unc gets a gift road like every season. so yea the conference isnt anything special this year.

I think the rebounding is a wash.  Duke avgs about 5 more per game, but WVU is playing in the Big East where they have to fight for shit against Thabeet, and Hibbert, and Blair, and Harangody and, you get the point.  Lots of threes means lots of long rebounds.  Duke's guards (esecially Paulus and Scheyer) are way scrappier that WVU, and should be able to win the loose balls more often than not.

alright flash i can see your point  keep in mind that defensive rebs are easier then offensive ones and duke shot well from the field.  wvu is a much improved defensive and rebounding team from last year.  wvu doesnt turn it over much though so i cant really seeing turnovers being a big deal.

Shauk-- I see just as many guys on WVU on this forum as Duke.  In fact, most of the "big boy" high profile cappers are on WV.

Clown---  I am putting stock in the turnovers only because I am skeptical of the quality of back court defense in the big east.  I have not been blown away by the guards' ability to create points off of pressure this year.  This seemed to happen A LOT in the ACC.  Of course, that could just be because the Big East has better ball handlers than the ACC this year.  I think you are probably right that this game should be close...I just have a hunch that these Duke players will come out and really be on a mission today.  Based on my record as of late, you're probably on the right side

I thought the object of the tournament was to win and advance. Didn't know pt spread or strength of opponent mattered. They're 3-1 in my book. UNC gets a gift road?? HAHAHAHAHA. Would love your explanation on that one. 32-2. Regular season and conference tournament champions. Ten and Louisville in their region. Kansas and Georgetown on their side. Yeah, that's one gift road.

what conference wouldnt have went 3-1 against belmont mt st marys villanova and st marys?  hell id think most conferences would have went 4-0?  isnt north carolina staying at home for the first 4 rounds?  you dont think thats a big advantage?  they shouldnt have to worry about notre dame and washington state now should they because the pac 10 and big east are worse then the acc right?  i have louisville taking them out in the elite 8.  theres absolutely no way any of the other 2 seeds would have struggled with belmont.  not cover the 20 possibily but none would have won by less then 10.

After watching the way Duke had trouble with a good shooting team likeBelmont, they just might have even more trouble with WV which can shoot the lights out as well......Virginia doesnt like the bang the boards much so, that could help Duke who doesn"t like to bang the  boards either. WV has a good shot at winning

honestly for me it wasnt just the belmont game dukes struggled for a good month with the exception of the game at virginia where they shot the lights out.

I thought duke hit the wall against belmont. i am on wvu su, but will take the points also. duke has no big man and unless they hit 50% from 3 point range, i see them taking their early exit as planned.
