Possibly, Kelly. Still working on my assessment of UNT chances without their #3 top scorer/TOP REBOUNDER (Ousmane) against a very tough UAB team with a good sized front court

losing your top rebounder is real tough its possible to survive a game or two but when going up against their toughest team since their last game against them which they lost is a bridge too far

I dunno because that could work the other way too in the underdog role tonight. They did beat a pair of teams recently that are at least comparable to UAB and they won those without Ousmane!

yep but that doesnt quite refute my point i accept the fact they just barely clawed their way to a couple wins the past weekwithout their best rebounder but my point is itsd too much to hope for that they do that a third time in a row against good teams

@KellyM_1964
Maybe. Or they might. It's been a very tough rivalry between these two. I wouldn't be surprised if free throws determine the result here as it has in several of the games each of them have played.

Yeah I have to agree with the notion that their sweet run without their big man/top rebounder has a very good chance to expire this evening. He is a KEY starter. Top rebounders typically meaning moreso than any other KEY starter, due to the effect that rebounding has not only on scoring but defensively too/ PLus he is their 3rd top scorer as well.
UNT run the past two games without him -- both of which could have EASILY gone the other way!! -- is to me a lot like a team that races through the first 10 minutes of the half shooting 70%.........it's not sustainable........
BUT, Zircon makes a good point about fouls. Looking over the various boxscores, trips to the charity stripe, often lopsided, have meant the sole difference in a LOT of their games.
And that is something we just cannot handicap in advance.

Sounds like you're leaning to UAB

Yeah, I saw that you took them.......and I suppose I am leaning toward UAB....but this will be an in-game live action bet if any, as I want to see how UNT does perform without their big guy for their 3rd consecutive game against a very tough opponent. I think it's not sustainable but want to be sure....and I am prepared to lay chalk if need be on UAB *IF* the boxscore metrics are good too

At timeout with 14:12 left in 1H, UNT is shooting 5 for 7 (71%) and 50% from the arc.

Then UNT misses 4 shots in a row to drop down to the same 45% as UAB and UAB grabs the lead with a 13 - 2 run

....and then UNT goes on a 14 - 7 run while UAB shooters go cold.....back and forth we go

this could go on like that with lead changes all second half too

Quite possibly. UNT up 10 at half because UAB went on a cold shooting streak ....well below their average.....I expect that to improve in 2H

uab needs to start with a run to even the score
