Hey guys, nice 3-1 day on Saturday - not sure if I'll be around to post tomorrow so wanted to just make you aware of a game I'm very certainly be on tomorrow and its Dayton -2.5.
Very briefly this Dayton team is full of confidence and hitting on all cylinders, they are 10-2 ATS this year and have covered 8 straight. This Umass team is in shambles as they already have there senior point guard out with a stomach aliment (very questionable tomorrow) and they just kicked their new starting point guard off the team. They are going to have to move a bunch of guards around and spread the point guard position out amongst 3-4 guards. Most of their quotes in the paper amount to a collective "we will do our best" type of tone with many of them noting that they had never or had hardly ever played point guard even in high school. I haven't even mentioned how Umass was totally embarrassed by mighty Central Connecticut by 29 on Monday and that was before their starting point guard was suspended (they had 22 turnovers in that game too). This is also a terrible matchup for Umass as Dayton has been beastin on the boards (keeping opponents off the glass is a problem for Umass) and Umass also relies on defense and steals to help on the offensive end but this is another area where Dayton excels at (taking care of the ball). For those of you that like to do the common opponent math, Umass got beat by Seton Hall AT HOME by 25 while Dayton beat Seton Hall ON THE ROAD by 4. Umass has dominated the recent matchups but this is a whole different animal. Umass has been playing in front of a 2/3rds empty crowd and I expect an even smaller crowd tomorrow. I know that some alarmist will be sounding the "this line is fishy" alarm, but plenty of "fishy" lines covered yesterday (Saturday) and I feel good that this is one that will cover for us tomorrow. Got a few more reasons why I like this play but its super late and need to call it a night - good luck with whatever you decide.
