Nash was a monster for Okie State. Rider looks too easy tonight. Would like to hear your thoughts on that one. TIA

Wow Super Early today Nropp! Nice...

One game has me intrigued, USC laying 1 point to Colorado...is Colorado going to be the sucker play of the day? Can you please give me some in depth look into how USC can with this game with 2 guards  that are 5'7 and 5'10 going up against guards from Colorado that are all over 6 feet tall. The only thing I can see as an advantage for USC besides homecourt is Dedmond at 7 foot has a huge size and weight advantage over Colorado's players. Will he be able to take advantage of his size?

  I think you already know how much I believe this is a great way to form a winning ticket. Another CAA game with revenge, but with a couple of home team  injuries to factor in;

Neil,

How do you think SD State responds after their big win.  Let down at Oakland?  Does ND State rebound against IPFW?  Meanwhile, I am weak in my Southern Conference knowledge.  I'm curious if anything stands out there.  Ten points too much for C of C to cover?

Yesterday, I can't believe how putrid Seton Hall looked against Notre Dame.  What a pretender they are.  You were right about the under there.  Never in question.

Is there anyway NC State hangs with UNC tonight? I believe Strickland being out helps NC State quite a bit. Thanks in advance for your insight.

UF lost to Rutgers and UT on road. Mississippi is undefeated at home with a recent win against Miss State. I would recommend not laying anything on UF.

One game that stood out to me was Bill and Mary catching 8 or so at Jim Madison. I like the road team to maybe get the outright.

One thing that stood out ot me last night was the SMU Tulane game flying over 109. I don't think the linemakers have caught on t the fact that Tulane is now pushing tempo, it appears.

On 1/8/12 St Peters was a home fav of 3 pts to Rider with a total of 133. Rider won 72-58. Now the line is 6/140 at home for Rider. Is St Petes going to run with them? Thanks very much for your time and patience

I'm flummoxed by La Tech only laying 2 at home against Fresno St.  I saw FSU in person Saturday night...they're only dressing nine, only playing seven in the rotation and they're small.  Their shooters can hit, but they're gonna get killed on the boards.  La Tech is off two road conference wins, and seems to have finally found some confidence.  I was drooling when I saw the game open as a pick in Vegas...I'm hoping to catch 1.5 or less.  Thoughts?

Initial thoughts is that the Gators should be favored by a bit more...

Ole Miss is 9-0 at home, but those victories come over:

Mississippi State....nothing wrong with this home win, but I took Ole Miss here in rivalry and MSU had the big look ahead to Vandy (which they actually ended up winning)

Arkansas....terrible

SMU....terrible

UL Lafayette....terrible

Miss Valley State....terrible but probably get the SWAC auto bid

Miami FL...terrible

Grambling...terrible

UL Monroe...terrible

They haven't really faced an offense that can score from pretty much any direction at all this year on their home court. They did play a neutral that was essentially a home game against a good Middle Tennessee State, and they couldn't stop them and ultimately lost by 12.

Here's why I don't like Ole Miss. 

For starters, they stay in games with their defense. I can pretty much throw that out the window, as I think it's safe to say that Florida can score (they're the most efficient offense in the country as it stands). They're coming off two brutally effective and physical defenses, and before that they went to 2OT in a game with Auburn.

Second, this game is going to be played a bit faster in past years, and while that's the way that Ole Miss wants to play, Kennedy's never seen a faster Florida team. In the past, they were the definition of a snail. This year, they've sped it up and the offense looks even better than it has in past years. Assuming that is the case tonight, and both teams get out in transition, which offense you want to back? The one that goes minutes without scoring or the one that's scoring every other trip down the court?

Lastly, Florida comes into this game coming off an EXACT, let me re-itterate, an EXACT clone of what they face tonight. LSU and Ole Miss are mirror images of what they want to do from an offensive and defensive standpoint. So, in essence Florida's had a ton of time to prepare. They had a week to prep for LSU, and another 5 days here. That's 12 days preparing for the same exact scheme.

There is an outside chance that Ole Miss goes zone tonight, as they have shown it a bit on the year. However, Florida's about the last team in the country that any team would think about zoning with Walker/Boyton/Beal on the perimeter and the big guys who can step out and shoot it as well.

I can see where the value in Ole Miss is there with the homecourt, but I just think this is a game that they're going to have to outscore the opponent, and I just don't see that happening given the intangibles.

   My bad nroop, line opened at 9 1/2 and is at 8 or 8 1/2 most places.  The injuries I mentioned;

         Devon Moore G   35:00 min/gm,  9.7 pts/gm, 45/33 assts/to, low percentage perimeter guy, .182 3pt% and .413% overall. .69 fts%

         Julias Wells F   31:25 mins/gm,  8.6 pts/gm, .330 fg%,  .309 3 pt%, . 60 fts.%

     Moore did have a good game  15 points, in the 68-61 point loss at Wm+Mary, as 5 pt favs. He did  make up for a lousy performance from (my favorite CAA guy) "Humpty Hitchens", 2/8 3pt shots, 3/13 overall, 2/4 fts.
              
      Madison shot 36.7%, 21/ 58 overall, taking 16 more shots in that game but only 2/23, 8.7%, from beyond the arc.

 1.  Are the  Injuries factored into that line?

 2.  Is there enough depth on Madison to overcome the injuries?

 3.  Does home court negate a lot of the bad stats from the first game?

Rider beat them earlier in the year on the road, so it's really just a barometer of how much you take into account the immediate revenge angle.

The weird thing about that first meeting is that it's the only game Rider's won all year below 67 possessions. The offense generally hasn't looked all that great when they're forced to slow down as they are a quantity over quality type offense. So that would concern me backing Rider.

St. Peter's hasn't looked all that great, but they've played one of the tougher MAAC schedules, and have one of the toughest defensive squads in the conference.

I see some value in Rider, as St. Peter's has Iona on tap and they're on the tail end of a two game roady. Just don't like going against the revenge with a team that's going to slow the game down a bit with an agressive defense (something Rider has only won a single game taking part in this year).
