Looking at these stats the DEFENSE of AL jumps out at me. They are better than FL in scoring,rushing,and overall defense. If Percy Harvin is out, I dont see Flordia running as successfully against AL defense. I know FL has other backs(Demps,etc) but, I see Al slowing down FL rushing attack. In terms of offense I would give the edge to FL but I know that AL's O-line will push FL D-line all over the place:Alabama Davis

This game will be won in the "trenches" and I just cant see FL hanging with AL line. Saban knows how to control a clock and I think he will run all over FL.... NOT FL running over AL.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
This is a tie. FL has James but AL has Arneas. Alabama actually has more touchdowns on special teams tha FL.

GUYS, Nick Saban is a better coach than Urban Myers. He will have his guys ready for this game. He prepars his team better than any other coach in the country. HE will have them more prepred than FL. His game plans for jumping in teams is noted. He jumped all over Clemson; jumped all over UGA in Athens, and allowed the fewest first half points this whole year!
I see a close battle. But, I think Alabama wins in a close one:

Florida wins by 21 minimum and puts themselves in the NC game. They just scored 45 in a monsoon against a solid Def; what will they do on that fast track indoors. Unimaginable havoc will be wreacked on the red elephants def, those guys are gunna be shell-shocked after meyer's assault.
It'll be Florida vs OKL or TEX for the NC.

Thank you for the comments adam071....I am new to this site and i appreciate the feedback. This is only my opnion,but, I feel like strentgh of schedule is thrown out when you are talking about the SEC.
The teams florida have played are not that strong anyways. UGA SUCKS, never covering one spread this year (except LSU). LSU has proven to be a bad team. FSU is an ACC joke. South Carolina just got waxed by Clemson. Vandy proved to be a bust and Tennessee is just awful. Mississippi BEAT FL and they have 6 or 7 wins.
They did play a powerhouse in The CItadel.
I am just not convinced with FL strentgh of schedule this year.
I feel the two best SEC schools are in this championship and I think it will be a close game.

You realize Bama should of lost to LSU? The same team Florida blew out of the water? Bama almost lost to Kentucky also @home? The same team Florida beat 63-5.
I assume you are a Bama fan. I dont see how anyone in their right mind thinks Bama is going to stay within 17 points of Florida. We are talking about 2 teams on different levels here. Bama is good, not GREAT. John parker wilson is AVERAGE AT BEST. If he has to win a game for you forget it. Which 1 of the teams on Bama's schedule is a compete team on offense and defense? None of them are and they still struggled to win most of the games vs teams that are clearly inferior teams. They have yet to play a Defense the cailber of Florida's.
You realize they held the Georgia offense without a TD for 3 quarters and at the end of a blowout Georgia got a garbage TD? The same team that scored 30 points on Bama in 2 quarters.
The Average point margin in wins:
Florida: 40 point average
Alabama: 20.5 point margin
Then take into account that it is ALABAMA who has the weaker SOS and for the most part they have alot of common opponents and yet you got 1 team who is winning games by an average 20 more points than the other?

First, ALABAMA is young. against georgia thet did give up in the second half. That should have been expected. They beat the S#$T out of thenumber ine ranked team for a half. AL had a let down in the second half. Plus UGA has a very explosive offense.
second, I am actually a UGA fan. I love the dawgs. Do you relaize that Kentucky was without 8 starters against FL? LSU is a big rivalry game. FL should have lost to LSU. LSU had two key turnovers in the first quarter as well as an interception that was then tipped to a FL reciever.
Third, if you want to compare teams they have played, then look no further than Mississippi. BAMA beat Mississippi. MISS was able to PRESSURE Tebow. Tebow throws picks under pressure. Without Harvins I see BAMAs D-line putting pressure on Tebow all day long
Floridas margin of victory dosent mean anything. Myers runs up the score like a prick. Why did he feel the need to beat the citadel by 60? Kentucky was on thier third and fourth strinkers. Myers is lucky he did get his quarterback hurt running up scores.

Bama knows how too play indoors...remember the clemson game at the dome? Alabama looked pretty fast too me!

1. Florida should have lost to LSU even though they won by 30?
2. You are right UGA has an explosive offense and Bama played them well in the 1st half. Thats what makes the fact that Florida held the UGA offense without a TD until the 4th quarter in garbage time all that more impressive.
3. You cant compare how both teams played 1 team. How about the rest of the common opponents? Look at the margin of victories after the Ole miss game for Florida. Your looking at 2 different teams before and after the Ole Miss game.
4.Why did Bama feel the need to run the score up against Auburn? The reason Bama hasn't ran the score up against all the teams they played is because they aren't capable of putting up 50+ on any team.
What do you think Florida should have done vs the citadel? Im sure the starters played the 1st half and then 4th stringers ran the score up. Do you think Florida should just punt the ball to The Citadel everytime they get the ball? Florida's water boys are better than The Citadel, thats why they put 60 on them. Florida's 5th stringers would be star players on the Citadel's team.

One other note on Florida is I truly believe that Tim Tebow is on a mission since that loss to Ole Miss. Well thats completely obvious...he is on a mission. That speech that he gave after that game you could tell that Tebow felt just awful that they lost that game and he has meant business ever since. He will continue this into the SEC championship and Florida will win by at least 17.
