We all know who is going to win here and its Florida, I am a big Alabama fan , I would even lay the 10 points, the difference in this ball game is Tebow, he can do it all he can run the ball,pass it ,he's the best QB in America. Florida is the best team in the nation, as far as I can see, NOTHING WILL STOP THE FLORIA GATORS FROM GOING TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Look at the QB match. Who would you take in a big game Tebow or Wilson?
 
Against 5 common opp Florida is 45-15 while Bama is 28-19. They did beat ole miss 24-20 while the gators lost 31-30. Since then the gators and tebow have been on a mission.In the last 3 games they are rushing for 350 yds a game and have only allowed about 80..Since the ole miss loss Tebow vowed to give everything he has and has done so.He is one of the best college QB of all time


a) Time will tell about Urban Meyer. To me, as well as most big time programs, winning % isn't the objective - the national title is. Meyer won in his 2nd year, hence not with all of his recruits and/or someone else's team. Respectable, yes. But, Saban has the same thing this year. On the other hand, Saban built LSU starting in 99 and winning it all in 04'. Meyer is an excellent coach, this is his team, and he doesn't have to play 2nd fiddle to anyone. Personally, in this situation, I'd rather have Saban.

b) Tebow or Wilson? 80% of the time, Tebow. But, it depends on what sort of offense I was running. Wilson fits this offense and runs this offense that's suited for him. It works. Tebow does at his school as well. To me, Wilson is like Ringo Starr. When the Beatles fired Pete Best and replaced them with Ringo, someone said to John Lennon, why did you do that, Pete is a much better drummer? Lennon said, you're right, Pete is, but Ringo is a better Beatle.

c) In games of this magnitude, I never look at common opponents. It's a sure fire way for me to lose. For me, regular season works better in this regard.

My final words are this... on the surface, Florida looks like a mortal lock to blow out Alabama. But, rarely do you see teams as fundamentally sound and as well coached as these guys get beat that badly. I think +10 is a good play and this will be a terrific game to watch. Guys, Harvins has been updated to probable......He has a high ankle injury. That type of injury takes a few weeks too get back to 100%. Even if he does play expect him to be limited or at 60-70%.

1)FL is the second most penalized team in the SEC. This is bad because UGA is like the 5th worst team in the country in terms of penalties.

2) Alabama CONTROLS THE CLOCK!

 

These stat are important for backers looking for a large cover sporead. IF alabama can control the clock, they can keep this score close. Also, look for a few key penalties from FL to keep bama in a close one. Bama is the least penalized team, this means they are more disciplined. I think Saban uses tiem managemnet to keep this game in control.

I have been on here for 2 days reading why people love ALA to cover the spread. I have heard excuses like they should have lost to LSU and GA if it were not for the turnovers. How can you overlook turnovers? Fla is just as fast on defense as they are on offense.
 
I have heard about running the score up. Fla has played everyone on the sideline 3 maybe even 4 times this year with 2 of the times being in rival games(GA and LSU). Might I add that those same 2 teams ALA could not put them away.
 
Lot of fuss being made about the spread. Don't discredit Fla defense as much as it seems that you are. Very underrated squad this year.
 
Mr Bibendi himelf said he capped the game at 9 for FLA and he still is on here saying that turnovers and such should not count towards this game.
 
Sounds to me like vegas is getting their wish by people jumping all over BAMA.

That said, I think John Parker Wilson is an awful QB, I have lost money on him all year. The guy gets confused easily middle field zones, doesnt throw an outs well (weak arm), and when the blitz comes whats he gonna do with his reads (dont rust him. Bama has a good offensive line (Fla has a good Defensive line). Bama has a great back in coffee (thats your whole offense).

Tebow can pass and run. He has great weapons (WR's, TE with speed and hands). Deep and RB Demps , Moody etc. Too many weapons, Bama cant take it all away.

My game plan would be to stop the running game of Alabama (stack the line), press up the middle, force Wilson to throw. Wilson will make turnovers. Once they are down two touches Bama can't come back with their passing game against a fast tough Fla D.

I see a potential blowout only because Bama is not made to play catch up. The only way i see Bama covering is that the play complete mistake free football, and have long drives which keep Fla off the field. They have to dominate the time of possession by almost a two to one ratio. I think its too much to ask. To me this is like a Super Bowl match up of the 90 Giants againts the Buffalo Bills with the K-Gun offense except Jim Kelly couldnt run like Tebow. The Giants were able to control the clock and shorten the game it was a rare thing of beauty.

Why do you think BAMA cant play catch-up?  They havent had to play catch-up all year long....They normally have the game won by half-time.

J wilson really hasnt  had too step-up this year. They run the ball well and control the clock. I do agree with you on the confidence issue of J Wilson. However, I havent seen him under too much pressure this year,so, it is hard to see if he cant handle it.

Why di I think they can't play catch up. How many predominantly running teams in history were come from behind teams. Their style of offense isn't built to come from behind. I know they are undefeated, I know they only give up 11 or so points a game. They score 32 a game but how they do it is important?? They run, run, run, create turnovers, short field etc.
 
I am making a major assumption on which I think the game is ultimately hinged.
 
They won't control the clock. They need to dominate up front, they won't and I dont expect John Parker to help out. He's not going to throw the ball down the field.
 
So if they get behind in this one its all over and could get ugly.

Florida scores points, and scores them often. Their offense has yet to be contained, their only loss coming from a meltdown against ole miss cause of turnovers.
 
Althoug the Bama Defense has been stifling, their  offense is nothing to write home about
 
Alabama is undefeated, but the only win that is impressive right now is the last they played. Their win against Mississippi State doesn't even look as good, considering the beatdown Ole Miss just put on them.
 
Even the one game that seperates them from the gators this year wasn't very pretty, their 4 point win over the rebels. Bama was cruising at halftime, but they let them come back...even giving Snead an opportunity to win the game, but he failed with 4 plays in a row at Bama's endzone.
 
Yes, they did what Florida couldn't, beat ole miss...but it wasn't impressive . The turnover margin in that game was 3-2 in favor of Alabama.
 
They should have put the rebels away, but much like florida they couldn't. Ole Miss found a way to put themselves in a position to win. In their game against Florida, Ole miss had 1 turnover and UF had 3.
 
Obviously, what matters is the final score on the board, but vegas looks much deeper into the matchups.
DEFENSE DEFENSE

If you look at the defenses Florida has just dismantled the supposed best in the country. 3 top 10 defenses in South Carolina, Kentucky, and Florida State...total points scored? 164. Compare that to 26 allowed. You would wonder why Vegas is overlooking Alabama's defensive rank of 3rd in the nation, the answer is because the Gators have seen good defeses before and still put up big numbers. Vegas also knows that Florida's defense is sitting right there, at 7th overall in the nation, and they are about to play an offense that is less than stellar.

In terms of offense, you have Alabama at 53rd in the nation(371ypg), and Florida at 17th(449ypg). Scoring isn't even close, with Alabama averaging 32ppg, and Florida scoring 46. This isn't comparing a big-12 team to an SEC team...its comparing both teams to exact opponents.

One of the biggest questions In this game for me how the gators will play without Harvin, it is how well Alabama moves the ball. Saban is a good of a coach but he's  a defense guy, how will he plan to get Bama's offense moving.
 
I do not believe it is possible to stop the gators offense right now, even without harvin, but you can slow it down! Make them earn every yard they get. CONTAIN THE ENDS!
 
Florida's defense may be ranked 7th but they give up a lot of yards between the 20's. There are yards to be had against them, but they find a way to make teams make mistakes...bad news for Alabama considering they have John Parker Wilson at the helm, and quite frankly he's terrible.
