Bama has done well for me over the years, in fact
they were my "prime pick " the last 2 years in Week 1.
Against Mich. their Oline was awesome, last year,
due to graduations , their Oline struggled vs Va Tech.
I'm concerned that Bama may have difficulties due to
Oline, QB, and Off. Coord . changes and their performance
may not be what we've become used to.
I personally would pass on this game

What do you think about ohio st against navy

The Golden Nugget opened Ohio St,  -14, while 5 Dimes
is currently  got them at - 19. I'm not impressed with OSU
but at - 14 I like OSU better than I like NAVY.
At 21 or better , I like Navy.

The line is starting to move up and BAMA's  QB Coker
hasn't even taken a snap yet. This will be interesting.

Bama is gonna come out angry and will cover this by halftime.Dana Dane with Fame will see the door at end of season in Morgantown.U are talking about 2 different levels of talent.Bama is tough and fast while West Va is a gimmik offensive team.I see a 42-14 or 42-14 much like Mich-Bama 2012.Saban coming off 2 loses? Wouldn't want to be on the other side of that Bama offense.Look for Henry& Yeldon to team up for 3 bills rushing.

wareagle - I agree, but your assessment would have them barely covering...do you believe that WV will score that many points if Bama is truly angry.

Also, I know the QB position at Bama is plug and play, but will Coker and his elite WR's have a chemistry in game one...even with an experienced QB in AJ McCarron, Alabama barely covered against Va Tech, a team with a truly marginal offense...

I agree there is no doubt that Bama will win this game and it won't be that close.  I am just concerned about their ability to cover...

Do you think with an effective coker and a pissed off D, this could be more like 45 to 7, which would facilitate more of a cushion for the Bama backers???

U know 28 is a lot of points to give West Va, but I think they can sweep to the right sweep to the left w some off tackles runs and hang 40 to 50 points on this team.I think it will be a 3 and out party for West Va.I played too much on Bama against Michigan 2yrs ago much like I did on Auburn vs Ga & Mizzou vs Ole Miss and Bama vs Okla.Got crushed on the Sugar in game..took a nice bath that night.Bama drove down the field that 1st drive w ease then took the rest of the night off offensively.Give credit where its due tho that frosh Qb for Oklahoma played a hell of a game much like Garcia did vs Bama in 2010.Yes, I could see West Va back dooring that, but I like the 24 not so much 28.Yeah, it took special teams big plays for Bama to cover against Va Tech last year.There is a video that shows every pass Coker made in 2013.Take a look at it and make your own evaluation.My guess Bama will ground and pound WVa playing pacman then it will open up wide open great wide receivers for big plays.I just don't see West Va scoring more than 1o-14 points.I could see a 45-7 game .Saban like for a lot of kids to play, but I think he will have no mercy in Atlanta.I will start studying hard around the 4th of July.Like I said I've had some tough Septembers.Many times I don't even make my plays until minutes before kickoff.I'd say I make 10% of my wagers when the lines come available 60% on Friday and the rest day of.I like in game wagering too if I can get reasonable juice...What's your feeling on Texas this season especially against BYU- UCLA?

I'm from wvu and watched basically this year's same team last year and unless bamas qb isn't very good or we have drastically improved they shld cover.

Im a bama fan but 26 points is steep. With new QB saban will likely rely heavily on the running game which will eat up clock. West Virginia will stack the box which could open up some big passing plays. I suspect a conservative game plan from Saban. West Virginia may capitalize on Bama's yuong secondary early in the game for a couple of scores. Im predicting 38-17 Bama.

I haven't looked at Bama much but I do believe what you say. WVU D will be much better this year. I still them struggling on offense but I think 17-21 point win by Bama. 26 is pushing it.

I like Bama a lot, coming off 2 straight losses (when was the last time that happened, now there's your motivation), against a lower third of the Big XII WVU team  in Atlanta.   However, Kiffin's influence along with a new and unproven QB and given 25 points scares the hell out of me for a game outside of T-loosa against a WVU coach who has all spring and camp to prepare who is on the hot seat with the WVU AD to win now, scares the hell out of me with regard to backing Bama in this game...I personally think Bama wins this game by 35+, but I think there will be better options on the docket...

I think the line will settle down as we get closer to kickoff, but laying 24-26 with Alabama is a dicey proposition.  Yes, West Virginia is horrible, but that's a lot of points to lay with a team that has as many question marks as Alabama.  I lean Mountaineers at this time.

As long as Saban is running the show Alabama will be exceptionally talented, and will be a threat to win it all every season.

That said, Alabama's likely starting QB hasn't even taken a single snap in practice yet much less a game.  All of Alabama's previous newbie QBs under Saban had been in the system a few years, so they were much more prepared for the starting role than Coker.  Coker may end up being better than his predecessors, but to believe he is capable of leading his team to a 4 TD victory over a respectable West Virginia team in week 1 is a huge stretch IMO.  That is particularly so given that the offensive game plan will likely be extremely dumbed down like it was against Virginia Tech last season, albeit for different reasons.  A nationally televised game in the Georgia Dome is a tough spot for guy to be making his first collegiate start, I don't care how talented he is.

I expect a very vanilla and boring game with Alabama doing just enough to win the game, and no more.  At this point (and maybe my opinion will change before kickoff but I doubt it), I think laying more than about 13.5 or so with Alabama is insane.
