GL this week
Cutback - agree with you...hard to bet against this Bama squad, but one thing is for sure, if Bama goes out ahead 28-0, one good thing about Saban is that he doesn't like to blow people out, and the subs will come in...and hopefully then Duke can score a few gimmee points.
Not saying Duke is a bad play, but Bama's second team offense and defense would probably be ranked 5th in the nation. Did you happen to notice Bama's backup RB last week? He might be the best RB on the planet. The point is Bama's second team offense is just as capable of scoring as the 1st team.
Gimme points against a Saban coached defense? Good luck with that one. I think Duke will score in the 10-16 point range, but I seriously doubt any of them will be gimme points.

Soona and Jimmy - Whoa fellas...slow down. First, I totally agree with you that Alabama is a monster of a team, and in my humble opinion, there is not a team this year that can stop them. Secondly, Richardson alone is a monster in the backfield, let alone when they add Ingram back into the mix this week. The computer program I have used and still use, takes the match-ups and stats and pulls out what it thinks is the best ones from the parameters that I set. As you can see, it isn't perfect, nor is anyone anywhere, and this could very well be a game that it loses this week. That's why I always tell everyone to make their own decisions and not follow blindly. When this game came up as a selection it made me shake my head also, BUT, I don't hold any selections it makes back from anyone on here, just because I don't like it, and that is just from its track record. I am absolutley not telling anyone that they should choose this game to lay money down on, only that they should look at it. Maybe I used the wrong term of "gimmee" points, and I apologize. I guess when a team could play its first string the whole game and shut out a team, then they play their second or even third string in the game....that is "gimmee" to me.
Oh and just remember, not that Saban was a beat em down and blow-em out kind of guy to begin with, but since they took the margin of victory out of the BCS formula, there is even less and less of a reason to leave those monster players in, risking injury when you get that 4 or 5 touchdown lead. But god....take out ingram and put in richardson....win win

Vegas - it's all good brother. I don't mind being called out, because it's all there, and I don't make it up....much..HAAHHAHA. I wouldn't go by the favorite picks very much, my whole time on covers has been dedicated to the underdogs, and have been asked to develop another program for the favorites, and I am still working it..... Good luck this week!

UPDATE:
Not sure how I missed it on the original post, but when I was looking at predicted scores this morning I noticed a Favorite that was predicted by the computer, and I failed to post it to. So going to add it to the list of Favorites.
Troy -4 vs UAB
Sorry again for my ineptness.

Geez you kill me...Jimmy, we get it, yes Alabama is damn good and yes they are deep. Please understand the question is does Duke cover the 23.5 pts....this is a sandwich game in between Penn St and the start of SEC play, if Duke can score 14-17 points I think it's a cover. Bama will run run run and the clock with it, hope to get out of town with minimal injuries.
You can look over at my minimal # of posts and that's fine, but listening to you fire off your mouth is draining....

This is a good thread. I make the most money in CFB by taking shit teams like Duke when no one says that it will be close, etc. I got Virginia Tech this week and all I hear is how terrible of a play that is. Like your computer, I have done well the last 6 years doing this. But like your comment above too, I have to make the plays that come up, regardless on my own personal opinions of a game. Love the thread and good luck.

It might be helpful if you actually read my post. The very first thing I said was "not saying Duke is a bad play." In other words, I was in no way criticising the play. My post merely addressed what I see as a flawed rationale for making a play on Duke which is a) that Bama won't cover because the 2nd string is incapable of scoring, and b) because Saban's defense will allow gimme points that presumably will give Duke a backdoor cover. Now ATC may very well be right on both points. I just don't think either scenario is likely.
You say you get it. That's great!!! Then you should be making a lot of money. As for you being weary of me "shooting off my mouth," I would suggest you not read my posts. That said, has it occurred to you that others may actually value the opinion of someone who has only misfired on Bama games twice in the last 4 or 5 years, and someone who is 2 & 0 this season (both wins being "Best Bets" and one of those being a "Max Bet" game)?

I get the fact that you are simply posting computer generated plays that meet your static parameters. I knew that before I clicked on your thread. As I said, I am in no way criticising a play on Duke. If they can manage to score some points they may very well cover.
Great thread as always!!!

Okay...no more attacks on anyone in here but me. It's all good, and I like the discussion. But no reason to banter back and forth...we all must be friends.....
Jimmy - It's all good...the main point that I wanted to address out of your first post was the fact that I called them gimmee...and I can see how I used the wrong terminology. And dat was all. Didn't want to offend anyone.....as I am sure that some Bama fans might get delirious if you said that their team will give up "gimmee" points.
The rest of your degenerates.....you are all the best....keep moving forward!

ATCasws: Good luck.
I hate fading you, but I already have NEB down and I'm too stubborn to change.
I wish you good luck, but you really don't need it...it's amazing how many unpalatable picks your system makes that seem to come in...
