hard to say.  TX receivers dropped 7 catches, Tx team had countless penalties..... and we were still in game....   I think you take away the shovel pass INT TD......and it would have been TX taking the lead when they scored their second TD....   Yes, I believe TX would have won, but in the end...no excuses.       Congrats 'bama backers.
angry at Tx offensive play calling much of the game....

To Jimmydafreak......tell me.....TX scored 14 offensive with a true freshman.  You said they wouldn't score 10.  I believe with Colt in game we score 28...maybe 35.   imho.

o well.  sad to see the season end like this.  we'll be talking about this one for awhile.

Colt got hurt. Dont you know anything about football? The defense was on the field waaay too long due to 3 and outs and short drives/turnovers by Gilbert.....

i was never remotely concerned at any point in this game with or without Colt, and i strongly feel that if he had played, it would have not changed the outcome by even 1 point... Colt is ridiculously overrated in pressure situations against a strong defense... name one game against a topnotch defense where Colt didn't bear his sorry ass to the world with his crappy play... (with the exception of OU-Texas in 2008... a game in which Demarcus Granger did not play and Ryan Reynolds got hurt in the 1st quarter)

 

Colt in this game changes nothing!

Nah. I'm a believer in destiny and also knows that 65% of the time the spread doesn't matter.

Destiny was on Alabama's side tonight. Therefore, i'll bet on Alabama with confidence no matter what the spread is.

And before the outcome of the Texas/Nebraska game, i told myself that i would take Alabama up to -7 against Texas and up to -11 against Nebraska.

Biorhythm & ephemerides. Google 'em. Its a great handicapping tool for games of "destiny". At least for me.

Sorry, Texas bettors/fans. You guys were on the "unlucky" side tonight. Next time, next year.

Ok, did nobody else watch this game? Ingram was on the sideline almost the entire 2nd half. Once UT pulled close, he went back into the game and ran wild. Bama went into a shell. Period.

As far as McCoy getting the Texas D some rest.....Gilbert made the throws when he started passing. The UT WRs dropped a LOT of balls that hit their hands. That is on the WRs, not McCoy being on the sideline. Texas could not stop Bama when Bama had Ingram in and wasn't in a shell. Bama could have put up 48 points if they wanted to.

I was on Alabama and now looking back at this game. I beleve if Colt stays in the game they would have won it. I Just got lucky . My #'s on this game were tight showing a slight defensive edge toward Alabama winning by 7 thinking it would be similar to last years game with OKL / FL. They say luck is unpredictable, knowledge takes advantage of it.This time luck reared its head

Doesn't matter...You will never know Colt could have had a terrible game??not likely but possible..Plus Texas was given the ball twice on the first two series in great field position and did nothing 6pts... and Ingram set the whole third quarter...Either way bama wins... Was a good 4th quater untill the last 2minutes we got a pretty good show as football fans.............

Based on Colt's performance against Nebraska, Alabama would have still won.  Saban would not have let Bama coast the third quarter if Colt was playing.  They almost let us Bama backers get moosed when they went for two and made it, I was all worried.   I was not afraid of Colt but still was glad to see him go out.  I don';t blame him and his Dad for staying out and going for a pro career.  This will still make him go lower than it would have.  You know that Smead, from MS, came out.  IMO he was not ready.  Congrats to Bama backers and those that took Texas at halftime.

How could you say texas would have won for sure.  McCoy was in the game for 5 plays!  Texas could not stop the run and that was the main reason why they lost the game, aside from the fact McCoy was out.  Allowing 2 rbs for over 100 yards and each over 5.0 ypc.  Shame on you texas defense.  You guys were a fraud.  The reason your ypc numbers were so low was because of all the sacks you piled up on the season, your run defense sucked tonight.

Look on the bright side GILBERT got some great BIG GAME experience. Texas WILL have another real good team next year. They played their asses off, but Gilbert WAS the difference(TURNOVER MACHINE)

I didn't mean to say whole defense was a fraud, as the pass defense was awesome.  The run defense was very average however tonight.

It all pays the same....they did throttle a Florida team that is awfully good and ran the ball for 205 yards....140 better than average allowed by Texas and 12 better than the Bama average on the regular season.  Bama was able to do what they wanted to do offensively.  I would've liked to see that game.

Texas was the play, I hit big tonight on Bama but any fool should see that wasn't the right side. Texas was well prepared and Bama's QB is barely equal to a walk-on.

I'll take the money but Texas was about to run up the score big time. No way Bama could have stayed in a 35-40 point shootout with McCoy.

yeah, cause Saban like to go conservative like when he could run out the clock but decides to go for the "conservative" 7 points instead....
