LSU has a very mediocre off. Bama, Florida, and Mississippi beat LSU by running on them. You don't think that's not lost on JoePa? Here comes Royster. PSU's off and def stats are better than LSU's, PSU had a ton of injuries for the first several games. They are healthy now. I just don't believe LSU can keep up if they get behind PS, with that Defense. PSU won 7/8. LSU 5/8. Winnable game for PSU.
Auburn lost 5 of their last 7...not much momentum there. Nwstrn WON 6 of their last 8. I think Nwstern can throw against Auburn's 8th ranked in the league pass defense.....Mike Kafka was playing as well as any QB in the Big 10 at the end of the year. Only throwing 4 int's in conference play. I like catching the 6 here..
Whiskey gets to play a weak conference foe in Miami. Whiskey won 4/5 games, so has Miami. QB Harris has thrown 17 int's, tied for worst in the very sad ACC. Who, besides a Bradford less Oklahoma, another weak ACC member GT did Miami beat, that's any good? Please don't count NC as good. This is going to be a good game, as Miami has a good front 7 on D, but Tolzien and Toon have been very, very good lately. I like getting the FG here too.
Minny sucks. It is just that easy. They miss Decker, and it is obvious. Weber struggled down the stretch, and I believe ISU's much better running game will be the difference in this game. Wrong team favored here. If QB Arnaud and RB Robinson healthy the whole year, they probably win at least another game. ISU by a TD if not more. Minny lost 4 of last 6. ISU split their last 6 in a better conference. Arnaud/Robinson will be completely healed by this bowl game.
Michigan State? Last five, 17 TD passes against this "defense" with only one int. That doesn't bode well for a team like TT that has a solid passing game, maybe better than anyone else MSU has faced this year. MSU got BLOWN out by PSU last game of the season, reminds me of when Iowa blew Minny out last year, then KS kicked Minny in the bowl...Wow, this one is a joke. TT by 21, or more.
Iowa +3.5. Iowa will have starters QB Stanzi, RB Robinson, and all conference OL Dace Richardson back for this game, and that is huge, Stanzi just wins, something like 16 - 2 in games started and finished. Robinson was the third leading rusher in the Big 10 when he got injured. Iowa has a month to work on GT's option, they certainly have the defense to be successful against the run, with arguably the best LB in Eads, Angerer, and DE in the conference. How is GT gonna slow down Iowa's running game with a healthy Robinson/Wegher? They won't. How is GT going to guard WR McNutt and DJK? Better conference, better team with Iowa. I will gladly take the points here.
I love it that most believe Oregon whips OSU. OSU is better, and bigger on both sides of the line in this matchup. Pryor came on down the stretch, he is very under rated. Won 10/11, man handling a very solid PSU game late in the season. But so did Oregon. This is going to be a very, very good ball game. If OSU can run the ball effectively, which I believe they will do against this porous Oregon D, they can keep the Oregon Off on the sidelines, and possible win this bowl. Just too close to call. Usually though, I will take a better defense in a big game.
Guys, I watch/follow the Big 10 closely. Just mho's, but I really believe the Big 10 redeems itself this year....certainly it will give them some motivation.
